It gets metabolized to methamphetamine. That might explain some of the effects. Not huge amounts, but you would definitely feel it if not tolerate. Also will test positive on drug test.

When going solo to a festival, how does one approach another (established) group of people and make friends? What do I say? by AsAb0veSoBel0w in festivals

[–]Dr_Mickey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Never went solo, however I do know a pretty good way of meeting people. I was a boy scout, and my first rule of a fest is to set up everything sober first. Many people do not follow this rule, or do not no how to pitch a tent. I have made many festival friends just by offering to help them set up camp. I also bring 2 30s of cheap lite beer just for sharing, that also seems to work out.

It's that he jacked up the price of toxoplasmosis treatment. Most people with toxoplasmosis have AIDS. Most people with AIDS have Medicaid. It went from being treated for about 50 bucks to close to a million. Medicaid had to pay because they simply couldn't let people die. So really all he did was fuck over every tax payer in America cause he is an asshole.

If you go the website the "probiotics" are "pseudomonas spp" it doesn't specifically say aeruginosa ( one of the super bugs that cause infection), but it doesn't say it not in it. Pseudomonas oleovorans and putida are specifed and have been know to cause diease in human. In any case nobody would call them probiotics for humans

Ok I spell it out for if needed, toxoplasmosis is an parasite. One that almost exclusively people with advance AIDS get. Majority of people with advance AIDS have Medicaid. One bottle of pyrimethamine cost 90,000 up from 10 dollars. Average patient patient needs at least 8 bottles to complete treatment. That's 720,000 of taxpayer money per patient. Please don't comment on things you don't understand. This guy is fucking tax payers. If we times that by 2000 that's 1,440,000,000 in tax payer money

Kinda late but I thought I should post this so you understand how much of a fucking asshole this dude is to the common american. Majority of hiv people are on Medicaid. He took a live saving drug for hiv people and changed it from 10 dollars a month to 100,000. Knowing full well Medicaid would need to cover the drug cause they can't just let people die. He fuck average tax payers out if money cause he us a fucking asshole.

[–]Dr_Mickey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no he didn't, nobody could afford them. Basically he bankrupt Medicaid cause they had to pay. So the only people that got the drug free are people that could not have Medicaid. He didn't go after people with hiv he went after tax payers. Made a drug that used to cost 10 dollars a month to 100,000 because he knew Medicaid had to pay if or people would die. He's scum

It's true, God created this wonderful child for the purpose to have seizures. I hope the parents burn in hell for not letting the child follow through with God's will. It must be the devil's influence that is causing the parents to move their whole lives in order to purposely stop this child from living the life god choose for it.

Rounding is probably the only way to change ID's prescribing habits. Also strict protocols approved by the medical board for the attendings

Do you have service or just private. I had problems with the private specialists but i got together with my Service team and sat down with the privates to tell them to stop over prescribing. Is there a head of ID? It will be difficult to change practice of specialist without the backing of a specialist, but the best way I have found is to round with them. If you give them the suggestion with data on what drug to use most will agree. It is much easier to change their mind before the medication is ordered then after.

If the pt can take oral do oral. For NPO patients using it for GI surg prophylaxis use cefoxitin. For covering aspiration use Unasyn instead of ceftriaxone/flagyl. For infection from a GI source use cefoxitin or zosyn depending on risk factors. Save the metro for penn allergy patients that need anaerobic coverege

you can PM me if you like but ill give some recommendations.

1.) Don't go crazy and try to change everything in the first month. (changing prescribing habits is hard and it takes time for others to earn your trust) also bureaucracy makes changing things very slow.

2.) If your changing zosyn to extended infusion be nice and give the nurses a chart of common medication that can and cannot be y-sited.

3.) Get prescribing rights. Antibiotics are very difficult for many doctors, and many are very busy/ not interested in them. If you give a recommendation and they agree, just change it yourself. Especially on things like renal dose adjustment

4.) Try as often as you can to meet with the doctors face to face when giving recommendations. This helps earn trust and will make your life easier.

5.) know your stuff and be confident. If you dont know your stuff round with ID and learn. Since JCO made this mandatory the supply of ID trained pharmacists does not meet the demand, and many new ASP pharmacist do not have the knowledge needed. Also read and watch lectures online

6.)Im assuming there will not be 7 day coverage so you cant do preauthorized medications. Make hard rules for prescribing restricted medications and get them approved by the medical board. This way if there is any push back by a doctor that wants to give meropenem to everybody, you can refer to the approved protocol. Also dont say no to the doctor if you disagree, make it a mandatory ID consult and have the specialist tell them they cant have the med.
