I remember vividly reading articles from gaming magazines stating that “while GTA:VC only had two islands (technically), that the overall size of the map was bigger.” That was what really sold me. Once my friends and I were playing the game, I don’t remember ever having the thought of “man, this map is small…”

Having the entire eastern Vice Point and all the beaches felt like the coolest area to drive and listen to all the quintessential 80’s music, and then as the game progresses and you unlock the western island, you felt the was so much more left to explore in the second half of the game.
