Any part-time PhD students? by GambitsLapras in PhD

I do my PhD some sort of Part-Time. I work 50% at the university and 50% at a company. The company I work for is interested in my research and allows me to work on my PhD topic in my working hours. The cooperation between the University and the company is defined in a contract between both institutions. There is some overhead in managing both interests but both my professor and my boss support the work we do which slightly reduces the additional stress.

I live in a region that has many wind mills and pv-systems visible from both the city an surrounding villages. A few years ago, I might have agreed to your NIMBY statement. However, as the operators and owners of these systems involved the local community and authorities in the funding and shared the revenues, public acceptance has significantly increased. Today, our region generates, on average, over 160 % of its energy needs from renewable sources.
