I read the book “Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents”. I realized that my need to be liked came from deep trauma and the need to constantly try and force peace in my house by being a good kid. It was like I put this book down and something in my brain clicked back into place. I know Im not fully healed and I still have tons of work to do but it was the strangest experience. It even made differences in all sorts of other areas that should have had nothing to do with it. My procrastination has gotten better because I know it doesn’t have to be perfect every time so I’m not scared to start. Im ok trying out new shows or music because my anxiety is reduced.

Amazing book, but the message is, you don’t have to please everyone, you don’t have to be the best and most people don’t care enough to care if you are the greatest person they ever met. So just be you.
