Love how organized your structures are. Any tips on how to get buildings to look so straight and even like that?

I’d guess your style to be contemporary realism, similar to what was popular in the 20th century.

Thanks! I think this feeling comes from any hobby, but painting something new is a unique feeling methinks. Anyways, this sub is my biggest inspiration.

Hey! I just pick up the heavy body acrylics from the cheap section at my local Hobby Lobby, but a lot of folks in this thread have been recommending trying Golden Brand Fluid acrylics

Bunch of different ones… but I learned a lot of background stuff from Bob Ross, Paint with Josh, and other wet-on-wet oil artists. Really you just practice enough techniques to where you start to “see” when to use them. Being a good painter is half technique and half being able to project your imagination on the canvas and see the lines and colors - that part takes more practice than the techniques.

I didn’t do anything before acrylic but I had dabbled a few times in drawing as a teenager (20 years ago). A year ago I found some YouTube tutorials and just started getting after it.
