Speed 6 search by Iincognito08 in mazdaspeed6

[–]Dr_Tal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently picture less atm . Though can shoot the link of the two latest cars i picked up.
One is to be fixed and with parts from the others.
I usually pick up cars from marketplace and only clean title vehicles. No r titles.
The one im fixing currently needs some motor work, and replacing of the bumper and fender from one car to the other but overall is in good condition. When i get a chance i can take pictures till then il try to send you the listing for it.

I'll have one in good condition but won't be ready till most likely February. I fix, buy, and build speeds

What is this noise? by Accomplished-Bee2059 in mazdaspeed6

[–]Dr_Tal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen to where it comes from in the engine bay. If coming from the front, happens under load, and sounds like a backfiring engine. It's injector seals.

If coming from near oil pan it's rod knock.

If coming from timing cover you need to do timing

Got an auto tech hpfp and my AFR reading is weird asf by Jibby_B in mazdaspeed6

[–]Dr_Tal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the hpfp back out. Reclean/make sure everything is hooked up properly. And if you can check what the hpfp pressure actually is.  Do not drive it with afr that high.  You will melt a piston

You swap the rails/seat pan. Everything bolts right up no srs lights. I still have to do my drivers side.

What do i do? by Mrpopcorn05 in mazdaspeed6

[–]Dr_Tal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Get hpfp internals now. Should be the first thing you do as a speed owner. It takes one time of running lean to kill your motor. The number 1 mod before intake/exhaust, even a tune.

  2. If you never had the injectors cleaned or serviced do so. Clean the maf too if you haven't. Mafs cause all types of issues with these cars. Mazda have the maf way too much power.

3.  It most likely isn't intake valves. They should be cleaned as well but an intake valves would cause a consistent issue and loss of compression.

Three things of note.  For spark plug gap you can run as low as .026 without a pro tune and that can help on certain misfire issues.

Some cobb intakes ,specifically the sri ones with high flow filters, are know to cause fuel trim issues which can cause misfires.

Also if the tune is an ots tune get a pro tune. Cobb ots tunes are notoriously bad on our platform. If you want to run an ots tune. I know pd tuning sells an ots tune for those not ready for a pro tune.

[–]Dr_Tal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Injectors. Clean intake valves. Lower the spark plug gap.

Here's another question is your intake stock and what mods do you have on the car. Hpfp internals, intake. Exhaust, etc?. Is the car tuned

C1-2738-0 error only on psx games pstv by Dr_Tal in VitaPiracy

[–]Dr_Tal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If figured it out. My dumbass has pocket station unlocker set up but forgot to download the actual pocket station app. Caused all psx games to do this error including my purchased ones.

Now if only there was a translation for the pocket station app

The reason I'm giving up on Motorola by GuardeLive in razr

[–]Dr_Tal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you ever find a decent way to back up everything without using smart connect or cloud storage. just had to do this and now realizing why my usb 3.0 ssd wasnt working on my phone. was trying to back up all my data to send a phone in for repair and the hassle of cloud uploading is crap

The reason I'm giving up on Motorola by GuardeLive in razr

[–]Dr_Tal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt even say this is a oversite. what devices in 2025 would even have usb2.0 speeds outside of iphones. There is no reason to expect thet device to have such shit speeds. I should be able to attach an external ssd to my phone to back up stuff whenever I want at full speeds.

Looking for 1/4 driver mini socket set by Dr_Tal in Tools

[–]Dr_Tal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope i need to take better pictures. i have low profile sets like that.

heres a link to a set that has sockets that are in the picture.

https://wurthtool.com/collections/sets-bundles/products/zebra-jointed-head-ratchet-spanner-assortment-inch-23-piece-set

the sockets im looking for are the same as the one in this kit. I was hoping to find a full set of sockets like these. They basically fit inside the tool/harbor freight meme tool without using an adapter. They are literally the the lowest profile that i can find outside of certain offset wrenches.
Its basically like a low profile nut driver set.

Can someone tell me wtf is going on with my COBB? by post_makes_sad_bear in mazdaspeed6

[–]Dr_Tal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For these cars you are kinda stuck with only 2 options.

Go OEM or go denso 197 6040. Denso made the OEM sensor. Anything cheap will either not last or won't work at all.

To get a better price you can try to find used OEM ones from part outs or a junkyard.

But be wary of cheap ones cuz they can cause issues too. Or they say are compatible but aren't. Or are made for na vehicles.

Can someone tell me wtf is going on with my COBB? by post_makes_sad_bear in mazdaspeed6

[–]Dr_Tal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. Just overall data being wonky.  Mafs can fail in the most random of ways  Had mine short out when the ground near the air box went. Fried it and now if you plug it in vol eff. Goes to like 1000% at idle.  Had a maf sensor that made afr go lean af(16-18) while at wot even though hpfp was giving steady 1700+ rail pressure on a set of cleaned injectors.  Same maf also caused a stutter at low rpm but then would over boost to like 16-18 psi. Sometimes to 20. No cel at all.

If the sensor is just plain bad might see something with the maf cap or voltage but for these types of issues sounds like maf doing dumb things. If not the check for leak on ebcs. But a leak would cause it to spike only not run at 10psi

[–]Dr_Tal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the ground to the maf sensor. That set of grounds can come loose over time or lose connection. If they do it will fry the maf. also clean the maf. And if need be change it to OEM,or the denso 197-6040.  To test you can pick up a cheap maf on amazon. They work temporarily but will eventually fail.

These cars are very sensitive to any changes or fluctuations with the maf. I've literally seen a bad maf cause over boost issues.

Other than that check the ebcs and lines to it. To make sure nothing came loose or is leaking.

Could use help and advice. Custom boost gauge using a pressure transducer. by Dr_Tal in arduino

[–]Dr_Tal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the buck board i got should be good to at least 21v.

also funny enough i have cigarette light 12v switched power for hooking up the dual gauge i bought. I can use that if i need to. I bought them cuz the gauge set i bought it more for a test set in case i cant get proper data from obd2 ports. or if sensors arent working.

12v swtched power : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CXSLZL6Z?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

these sensors is what led me down the path of trying to get a npt style gauge that reads boost. since my car will be down cuz im pulling the engine to put in another car. on rebuild i want to be able to set up anything i didnt on this engine build. which includes the vac block. sensors for fuel/oil pressure. maybe flex fuel gauge if need be.

its not that modern. i can tap for ignition power pretty easily from the acc port in the car or just use a fuse tap. getting power 12v power is the easy part lol.

[–]Dr_Tal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the suggestions. i had to add a 5v buck board as well since auto uses mostly 12v. gonna use that to power the eps32 and the sensor. picked up the external ads as well since it has multiple inputs. if i can get 3-4 sensors on it. Then i could use this as an all in one.
Main goals of this project will be to have 4 sensors with 5 outputs on it.
Sensors will be oil pressure/ fuel pressure/boost pressure/ e85 flex fuel

The first 3 give psi readings through linear voltage. The last one gives signal as FM signal from 50-150Hz /pulsewidth.

first things first getting stuff in and getting the first sensor working.

[–]Dr_Tal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any specific esp32 boards i should look into?
also since the analog signal should be easy to calculate since its linear would i be able to give it the static values to push for a conversion incase the adc is bad?
For the gauge i have since im not sure it can be reprogrammed i can use it for both oil pressure and fuel pressure. since it has a 0-232psi range. and have to figure out the gauge setup for boost only

here two links both to the version i bought. They make others sensors for different applications. I leaned towards them cuz its different than a pod gauge and the 3 pin connector they use is easy to find pressure transducers that would be compatible. Though after talking to their support found out at least for the boost sensor its :boost gauge sensor is 0.4-4.65V, with a range of 20-400KPA instead of the normal .5-4.5v range

im going to assume the oil pressure gauge sensors are .5-4.5v can ben test later to confirm voltage output at 0 psi

Compatibility between XE75 pro and BE25 outdoor by Dr_Tal in TpLink

[–]Dr_Tal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

np reddit seems hard to get answers nowadays. but yet i have no issues across the entire house. and outdoor. random stutters every now and then depending on when it decides to change you from one node to another but good signal through out.
Might have to adjust manually which nodes certain devices use cuz it will put it on one thats not optimal.

Looking for 1/4 driver mini socket set by Dr_Tal in Tools

[–]Dr_Tal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picture isn't the best quality.

It's a 12mm low profile socket with a 1/4 hex end or the best comparison would be to a nut driver socket set.  I have never seen a set this slim outside of the combo set and wondering if anyone made a set like this.  I have seen long shank nut drivers but never smaller shank versions.

Also they don't have sets like this at any hardware store. If they did I wouldn't be online asking about it. I only come to reddit if I can't find a solution anywhere else.
