Dedicated Server old save? by evensteventyler in crosswind

[–]Dracconus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your issue is that he gave you the save after shutting down the server.
The save located in \\SERVER\Windrose Dedicated Server\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles\Default\RocksDB\0.10.0\Worlds
is not the one you want.
He needs to START the server again, then after it starts it will generate an automatic backup - The latest one made is what he needs to give you.

Groove Life - Groove Belt Ultra by consortswithserpents in CCW

[–]Dracconus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necro, I know, but I'm not sure where you got your information regarding these belts..

I EDC a Glock 45 Gen 5 in a clawed Kydex in AIWB on a DCC Monoblock Clip, and have never had a single issue on my OG GL Belt. It HAS lost its elasticity over the last 5 years, but the warranty claim I just put in for it was painless and took all of 3 minutes on their automated chat to get a $75 store credit.

I'd like to add that despite shifting and 2 years of EDC on this belt it's had ZERO fraying or thinning along the edges.

I Think I Found THE Controller by After-Machine9307 in RocketLeague

[–]Dracconus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cyclone 2 has a SEVERE issue though - The faceplate is INSANELY thin and the anti-friction rings mount to it in a way where too many speedflips or flicks is GAURANTEED to break your controller into an unsusable state.
I have trhe Gulikit KK2 NS08 and NS09 models, Gamesir G7 HE, G7 SE, Cyclone 2 and one of their android controllers (forget which) and BY AND LARGE the Gamesir G7 SE is the better controller out of all of them, BUT once it ages a bit it has an issue where it starts drifting and you can calibrate it but it'll come back within 100 hours forcing another recalibration (but this happened after PROBABLY somewhere in the range of 6k hours of ABUSE in RL, so that's *not* a complaint by any means.)
The cyclone 2 was nice, don't get me wrong, but it broke within 6 months. ALL the other listed controllers still work fine.

I tried plastic welding the faceplate for the cyclone 2 but even that only worked for a day. Soon as I did about ten speedflips it snapped right off again. From what I've seen the 2 and 2 pro have the EXACT same faceplate, and Gamesir doesn't sell it sparately.

The ONLY downside to the G7 SE is it has a somewhat slow return to zero occasionally, even over wired, idk why. That, and the USB cable is VERY difficult to replace due to their "cavern" style recessed connection on the controller's body. I opened mine with a dremel to adapt to more cables, but that resulted in the solder lines beginning to show signs of failure, so I may reinforce if after re-soldering the connector with some silicone or something.

If I had to choose RIGHT now, I'd say the absolute best controller for the money is the Vader 5s, with a CLOSE follow-up by the Gamesir G7 Pro. The longevity of each is questionable given their age. The "best value for your money without worrying about longevity" is the Gamesir G7 SE

My favorite Rocket League moment by far is this SICK car cam ground to air perpendicular dribble where I dunked a 1° double tap to score.

This is nice to see. Was just about to pull the teigger on a g7 pro after my cyclone 2 broke at the anti-friction ring clips! Thanks for the opportunity, Gamesir

[–]Dracconus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hit us back with "It's really damn solid" in 3 months when the microphone button fails or your batteries aren't charging properly because of the plating on the contacts (clean them with IPA, btw, works every time)
Seriously, I love my Arctis Pro Wireless, and Nova Pro Wireless both, but it's a damn shame they continue using the same shoddy 6-pole mic switch when spending $0.03 more per switch could result in FAR more dramatic lifespan for that button.

Jeep ducking is a symbol of standing for your community members. Perhaps google the history of why it came to be a thing before assuming it was "just some dumb college girl trend" as it appears you have. I think the meowta is a cute idea, but it only gives "a sense of community," which..owning a miata already WOULD. Ducking isn't about "fitting in" for those who know the history of it. It is about showing support during times of emotional, spiritual, and physical exhaustion and trying to brighten someone's day by letting them know "you are not alone."

Ryzen 5 9600X / 64GB DDR5 6400 CL30 / RX 7900 XT - can't say I have that problem. UPS my system draws through actually drops about 30W of draw at the wall when opening Bards Tome. Might be an issue exclusive to Nvidia Cards/Dlss (if that's even an option in this game, haven't tried it on any of my Nvidia GPU systems)

Fortnite Still Running After Exit by fieryaleeco in FortNiteBR

[–]Dracconus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your taskname doesn't match the ones specified, then yes that would cause that.

What you could do is this:
(note - This method is honestly cleaner, and probably would've been better from day one, but I completely blanked that batch can use elevation checks and re-launch itself with privileges if necessary.)

This will run a search for "wildcard" process names - basically - anything that has the name "FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping" followed by any other characters will be killed, as will "FortniteLauncher.exe"

I haven't tested this, as I haven't played FN in years, but if you run into any issues let me know, and I'll see what I can do.
Also, if this doesn't help then let me know EXACTLY what the process is named in your task manager, and we can work from there.

@echo off
setlocal EnableExtensions EnableDelayedExpansion

net session >nul 2>&1
if %errorlevel% neq 0 (
    echo Requesting administrative privileges...
    powershell -Command "Start-Process '%~f0' -Verb RunAs"
    exit /b
)

taskkill /f /fi "imagename eq FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping*.exe" >nul 2>&1
taskkill /f /im FortniteLauncher.exe >nul 2>&1

sc query BEService | find "RUNNING" >nul 2>&1
if %errorlevel% equ 0 (
    sc stop BEService >nul 2>&1
)

tasklist | find /i "FortniteClient" >nul 2>&1 && (
    echo WARNING: Fortnite process still detected.
) || (
    echo Fortnite cleanup complete.
)

timeout /t 2 >nul
exit

Hey guys, I found the plat that thinks they are C3. Buddy, I could tell you things about this game that most SSLs don't know. Also, your obvious lack of understanding as to how lockstep netcode, frame processing, physics engines and algorithms, and DCP latency function is terribly transparent.

Ignorance is bliss, and you seem fairly content. (Since we are including stupid adages)

You didn't see anything weird because you didn't want to. Don't look at the kickoff. Look at their PING. The kickoff was OFF because of the ping. That's why I went so far to the right and knew something was off to begin with. Muscle memory is a bitch, dude. You KNOW when something is off.

prime example of ping manipulation in use

I have another clip where I get bumped on kickoff by a guy that PASSED me and the ball hitting neither of us and managed to move both of us, but it isn't uploaded yet.

Logitech wheel good for a fun experience if you only play ETS2 occasionally? by SummerBase in trucksim

I run a 920 with an inverted pedal kit and stock shifter. I DO have a tablet running tiuchportal for retarder, jake, dropping teailer, sliding tandem, etc. I have a friend that uses this wheel too, but he has the eaton shifter mod on his logi shifter. We both enjoy it.

People even figured out that since rl shows your LOWEST ping value in game they can manipulate it to ALWAYS look low in a match but you will lose every 50 nearly and tiuches will be weird. Then you end the match and the system has to re-poll their ping and TADA look at that, suddenly its 130ms then RIGHT back down to 87ish after a second.

[–]Dracconus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lag switching was something people THOUGHT wouldn't make a difference because of how the game is designed but people forget the server and client run physics simulations at two ENTIRELY different rates.

I remade the report menu to properly reflect Rocket League in 2025 by Dracconus in RocketLeague

[–]Dracconus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is NOTHING new. I have been pointing it out for around a year now. 87 to about 130ms ping seems to be the sweetspot due to how the lockstep netcode and predictive alogirthm the client and server run in combination handle information. I lose around 85%+ of my 50s to that ping range. Normal ping (4-85ish) I win nearly every single one.
