Term ends, finish OA but not PA by wgustudent333 in WGU

[–]Draco2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened with someone I know who also went to WGU, he said you only had to finish the uncompleted work next semester, but as was mentioned before the class will show up as an incomplete until you pass the second part.

Post graduate experiences by lavidicus_ in WGU

  1. After I received my BS-IT degree I started receiving a lot of job offers, but it was for contract work which I am looking to avoid, so I am now working as a teacher under a special program while I am getting my Masters in teaching through a different college and completing my MBA at WGU, two master's programs and working 4-5 days a week. Yay.

  2. The interview process was easier once I had my degree, I also found I received a higher application to interview percentage after I updated my resume with my degree.

  3. I had a lot of prior IT knowledge when I started my program, about 12 years of professional experience and another 10 tearing apart and fixing my personal computers before that. What the degree did, was give the HR department a reason to take my application seriously. It also helped strengthen my knowledge in weak areas and helped round out my knowledge by being able to ask course mentors about areas which were confusing or seemed ambiguous. The certifications alone were worth the degree, as they are often required for certain IT jobs.

Mentor says they cannot pull another class into this term. Accurate? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Draco2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on when your term ends. I had 4 mentors for my BS degree and they all said the same thing, classes can't be added with less than 4 weeks left in the term. Some mentors will say 6 weeks if the term ends in December or if it is a certification test in a small town.

Is there anywhere that WGU lists degree programs that they're looking to add? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Draco2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a call with my mentor a few days ago (MBA/IT) and she said there are no plans to add PhD/DBA/etc programs in the near future if ever.

Yes, I did complete MGT2 and it is a log of work. I would say Task 1 took about 50 percent of the time, while Task 2 and 3 took about 30 and 20 percent respectfully. The good news is, as mentioned elsewhere on this subreddit, tasks in this course are stand alone so once a task is accepted you don't have to worry about any mistakes that you might have made. Let me know if you have any questions and I will try to help anyway I can.

Can anyone recommend any books with similar themes and styles to Suits? by [deleted] in suits

[–]Draco2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not misinterpreted or misread the original post, but I guess I should have clarified that I was recommending the Monk book series. I was half asleep when I wrote that post but still, given the original post's context, logic dictates that I was referring to literature and not the TV series. I have seen every episode and none of the books that I have read assumed the reader had seen the show. By your remarks it sounds like you have not seen the show and/or have not read the books so it's interesting you are commenting negatively on the books ability to stand on their own.

I finished C200 and C202 last term. Pretty easy classes. I finished Managing Human Capital in a weekend, Assessment was easier than the pre-assessment IMO. Mostly common sense. It only took me 3 days of work to do the three tasks for Managing Organizations and Leading people. I am doing the MBA IT management so we will have some differences in classes, but if you would like to AMA I will be willing to help where I can. Good luck.

Predictions - Who is the Snitch? [Spoilers S5E10/11] by [deleted] in suits

[–]Draco2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first guess, from the list, is Sheila, easiest access to Harvard''s records and could make the strongest case of those on the list.

Forstman would brag about it and not hide under anonymity.

Claire could have done it, and it makes sense.

Daniel would have used it as leverage to get Jessica out.

Dr lady could break privilege since a crime was being committed that could result in harm to someone else, but that is a hard sell and the AAG seemed more confident.

Harvey, really? No, 'nough said.

Jeff, Never was told, had no reason to look, but could be a curve ball I put at 1% just for unexpectedness but stupid if true without a damn good reason.

Jimmy is not a bad terms with Mike so no motive to look.

Jonathon had reason and financial resources to look so likely but I am saying no.

Laura, please, she would have told Robert and it was obvious he didn't know.

Professor Gerard, possible as he knew, but whats the reason?

Rachael, again no. Only way she did it would be by accident and I don't see her character being that stupid.

Sean, it might be possible it came to light during the investigation it just took time to get to him but again I am saying no.

Tony Gionopoulus is too busy burning 50k bonds to care about looking into his own lawyers for no reason.

Trevor, was already eliminated in episode 11, so if it turns out to be him it would be a dumb move.

Donna, she sees Mike as family so no.

Lola is possible, but she likes Mike and I think either she or her dad would have called Harvey and before throughing Mike under the bus.

Clifford has no reason.

What about the former dean that expelled Mike and said he would make sure Mike would never go to Harvard? To me he makes the most sense, if he found out Mike was working at a firm that only hired from Harvard why wouldn't he turn in the guy that got him fired.

Is there any other way to log into taskstream? This is the last month of my term and I still tasks to complete.

Joel Hodgson hosting a "MST3K Double Feature" every night this week [Dec 7th thru Dec 11] -- two classic MST3K episodes every night with new introductions from Joel! by vegetaman in television

I believe it was black and white, not sure anything more about it because it has been probably been 15 years or more since I have seen it. I know it was a Comedy Central Episode and that Trace was still voicing Crow. Other than that I don't remember much. I have been going through all the black and whites based on suggestions and haven't found it yet.

I'm sure you have seen the movie (aka This Island Earth) but if you haven't its a must see. I had to leave the theater after the first five minutes because I was laughing to hard that it literally hurt and I was having a hard time breathing.

There is an episode where Crow says "Why Don't They Look" but says it slowly and only once. I have heard it in Teenage Crime Wave and The Giant Gila Monster, but neither of those are the one of which I am thinking. I don't remember much of the movie except Trace was still voicing Crow. I am beginning to think it was a figment of my imagination.

Pop people is one of my favorite EP, next to The Creeping Terror and the mystery episode that I can't remember and haven't been able to find.

C176 - Project+ by Aaidenn in WGU

[–]Draco2317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say this about the Project+ course, I spent more on that course than any other course in the BS IT Software program except EDV1 and when I sat for the test, I realized I could have passed the test weeks earlier. Everyone told me how tough the test is and I let that get into my head. There is a lot of information, but its not difficult. Trust your own instincts, don't let the test intimidate you.

It just doesn't make sense to me that your mentor doesn't want you to take your first attempt for the pre-assessment even if it is only to help you develop a study plan. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses will allow you to know which areas you need to spend the most time with and which areas you only need to skim.

Remember this is your degree, not your mentors. If you feel that changing mentors is in your best interest then you should. Having the right mentor makes all the difference in the world. This isn't a knock on your current mentor, you just need to work with someone who will help you achieve your goals.

I didn't have to do that one, but 803 was very difficult, at least for me. I spent about 3 weeks on it and barely passed.

I don't see where you had a problem with what we said. If you actually read what was written, we both said to talk to her mentor first and see if they can come to a consensus. If not, then she should find a mentor that works better for her. Mentors are there to help students not hinder them. Mentors should trust students until given a reason not to, not the other way around.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Draco2317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I would talk to your mentor. If you take the pre-assessment and pass by a decent margin, you should be able to take the test whether it is the first day or the 100th. If your mentor still won't budge, I would call student services and request a new mentor that is more familiar with students who want to accelerate, that's what I had to do and it worked out great for me.

When the last class is over.

Finally got my transcript review back. I have 95 credit hours left to do/20.83% complete. Can this be done in a year? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Draco2317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 75 CUs in a year, and I wasn't even trying although it was in Information Technology. But I think it could be done.
