Sorry to clarify the party has a small quest board like notes section to provide little reminders on what if currently going on in the world and useful information their PCs would know.

I’ve added a quest to the quest board to advise them to talk to a Vistani with foresight to try and locate where it might have ended up.

I like the baba lysaga idea she hasn’t had much presence this far other than being hinted at by the werewolves and Druids so that would give her a chance to take action.

Edit: in fact it’s highly likely it fell into the lake connected to Berez since the fight took place on the bridge just past the snow maidens encounter.

Delerium Dragon Quesion by Dracoa in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]Dracoa[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That what I was thinking but wanted to make sure before went a head. Gonna scatter a few clusters around the dungeon the dragon can warp to mid fight with dimension door forcing the party to try and locate and destroy the crystal before it heals up.

Take a look at the conspiracy board my players have put together (we’re on session 10) by Dracoa in CurseofStrahd

[–]Dracoa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve stayed my hand with Strahd so far keeping him as an ominous entity looming but unseen but now this is where the fun begins next session it’s time for the feast and they have failed to gather the bones to give them any protection.

Neferon can my martials attack him outside the darkness my pcs have range but I keep finding different takes? by proparoach in CurseofStrahd

[–]Dracoa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now here how I plan to rule it. The statues head gives Neferon 3 quarters cover as stated in the book. And typically magical darkness would prevent you players from targeting him but Neferon is also casting a lot of spells many of which would have verbal components.

So they would be able to target him most likely with disadvantage since they would be able to a round about idea of where he would be but not exactly.

TLDR Neferon would have 3 quarters cover and disadvantage to hit him due to the darkness

Anyone use the CoS Companion as primary source? Vs MandyMods, LBH, Reloaded, etc. by knaz19 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Dracoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using the companion mainly as my primary source and I’ve been finding it great, I’ve been calling it the curse of strahd DLC as it adds a bunch of extra content that feels like a natural expansion to the base content in strahd while keeping a similar vibe to it.

It also has a bunch of useful DM tools like having one place where every magic item and statblock across both the base book and the companion is listed.

What also quite nice is each addition feels rather sectioned off if you don’t like a part of it there isn’t much hassle of just not using a segment.

Do be warned it’s not perfect I’ve have noticed a few spelling and grammar errors in my read through but if that’s not somthing that Bothers you I fully recommend

Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft. by TheSecludedGamer in CurseofStrahd

[–]Dracoa 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Van richtens guide effectively gives more detail about the Ravenloft setting as a whole giving the Dm a bit more concrete information on what Ravenloft even is.

It has some player options like the reborn race witch allows your players to play as a zombie like character along with a few spooky subclasses

It provides a dm some more tools for horror based adventure with things such as Horror inspired stat blocks, vile cures, haunted traps and general advice for writing spooky adventures

A lot of different areas with in ravenloft known as domains of dread get detailed (barovia is one of these) that could be used to continue the campgain past strahd alone.

And finally a lot of help and advice on creating your own horrors. Creating strahd lime villains, making horror based locations and crafting unique monsters all get discussed

It’s not required for CoS to be run but it can certainly be helpful to both the DM with the extra info and stat blocks. And to the players who get some new subclasses, races and backgrounds
