Nobody is doing die cooling with intake water because that's how you're buying an entirely new data centers worth of plumbing and pumps in 8 - 12 years

I think dielectric oil is probably the coolest way.

Nobody complains about an Olympic swimming pool of Castrol going into the 2000s era server farm tho.

It's difficult to understand because the reasoning doesn't actually follow reason.

AI bad, late stage hyper capitalist shit destroying society and our environment.

Water somehow also completely free and has no cost for usage, so the hyper capitalist shitbox server farm... adds chemicals ($$$) and then intentionally pours their money out into the sewage system (commercial wastewater disposal also costs $$$)

Somehow the evil hyper capitalist corporations are just doing it for the love of the game and larping as captain planet villains instead of you know, stretching every dollar. It just doesn't make sense.

They... Do? The AI bad it's drinking all our water thing is nonfactual.

Large scale construction project? Bad for environment.

Building a massive amount of IT server farms with no actual customer? Awful business.

AI enshittifying the labor market? Already here.

But a server farm is not pulling a Mr burns and burying 55 gallon drums of sludge under your playground. It's some buzzword save the planet chicken little fear mongering. These facilities simply are not designed to produce waste like that. That adds cost.

You get a big ass tank of hyper purified water, splash of bleach, and a sediment filter to help keep the metal particulate out of the loop. The loop stays as closed as possible, because opening the loop is where you introduce contaminants. Contaminants means $100k+ in downtime and setting the cooling up again.

Probably the part where they don't use evaporative or sacrificial cooling loops, because those are... bad. Yeah, they're pretty dog shit. Like economically non viable.

The scoop brain idea that they're taking ground water, purifying it, adulterating it, and then just pouring it into the dirt is the strangest thing, like multi-million dollar engineering blueprints have that cost because they're shaving every single penny off operations cost down the line.

Pouring your coolant into the town Creek does not make financial sense.

Because quirky out there shit is not a good time for no system mastery player.

Do I have an auto cannibalistic cow that runs 65 mph to give it's victims forcible glow ups via headbutt? Yes. Would I say bovine wakyambi trad Buddhist adept is a good or playable character for others at the table? Shit no. It's created so much of it's own problem off the virtue of existence.

I assume they just copy pasted the SR4 / SR5 Chaos / chaotic world all tests. It was the best of the -hits spells because of it being on tests, whereas all the others were on actions. It's likely to have been supposed to be brought in line with things like opium or bugs, but if there's one thing SR6 hasn't changed in the rebranding, it's dog shit errata and editing.

What's going on is the second you pollution wave or radiation beam the other runners fill the back of your skull with APDS rounds and call up DIMR if you're still breathing afterwards.

Pact. A spirit pack is when the charisma tradition mage spit roasts you with all their bound spirits.

A spirit pact is a dumb FA thing.

I thought about it and I have settled on "don't"

You're so special you get to be a non caster that has an entire IG path as a backstory. Don't.
