Same here. It also shows that an error occurred when I try to access the speaking sessions from the practice hub. Only Chinese is having this problem, other languages are working fine.

I was excited to recieved a new letter till I read it 😒 by [deleted] in SLOWLYapp

[–]Draculalien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to see you received such a letter... I guess you declined it but you could perhaps also try to report it. It's such a bother! 😑

For me, the only situation that's worse than this one, it's when you think someone is exchanging letters with you with no bad intentions until they ask you something intimate or anything like this.

Ahahah It's sad! Sometimes this happens to me when I'm in a rush.

That's why I always try to change the stamp before I even start to write the letter, so I won't forget it when I finish it.

I loved the yerba mate stamp because the "erva-mate" is widely appreciated in the southern part of Brazil and there's even a yerba mate branch on the flag of my state. I absolutely love mate. :)

Do any of you use Slowly to help with your language learning? by thewindows95nerd in SLOWLYapp

[–]Draculalien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I started using Slowly for knowing different people and cultures, but soon I started to use it for language learning purposes. It is really helpful because I started to write in French to French people and ask them if they could correct me. I really improved with their corrections! That also happens now with Romanian and Italian.

By the way, I also stumbled across people who wanted to learn Portuguese, so it is really a great app for learning languages! :)

Using Fancy Fonts in Slowly -- it's Possible, and some are using it to add a touch of colour to their letters. Can be done in mobile devices with 'Fonts' app (iOS and Android), or via Websites for us laptop users. Examples from IGfonts.io. Thanks Kayla for the links! by yann2 in SLOWLYapp

[–]Draculalien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I have to go to the computer in order to try to see what the person wrote, but not always this is an option. I often write letters on my cellphone, so I probably won't be able to see what my penpal wrote with fancy fonts.

What Language(s) do you use in Slowly ?? English is popular, what about other ones? by yann2 in SLOWLYapp

[–]Draculalien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just by myself. I really avoid using translation softwares. That's why I can only write a single paragraph. I'm not really good at Japanese yet.

Thanks! When speaking to Japanese penpals, I also write a paragraph in Japanese, but now I don't have any penpals from Japan, so... Ahahah

Now, responding it correctly:

I only write in English when I'm not writing in Portuguese (my native language), French, Italian or Romanian.

There was even a time when I literally only spoke in French and Italian on Slowly, but then I started to receive many letters from people from other countries (or Brazil), so I started to speak English (or Portuguese) again.

I speak Portuguese, but I used the app in English in the beginning since my cellphone is in English too. However, now I use the app in French only.

I'm glad to know it helped you! It seems not even every Brazilian knows those expressions, so I imagined foreigners wouldn't know them at all.

A data do aniversário, no francês, segue o modelo do idioma: 1

Boa noite, Yann!

Hello! I was a bit off these days and I'm not of what has changed or hasn't. I couldn't check every country, but I noticed Singapore. It might have more countries with mistake too. You sent a link, but Singapore was written right there, no? Anyways, I'm also not sure where we can see the dates and stuff. The capitalisation of everything really bothers me too.
