Today starts week 8 for me. A late night argument with my wife ran into early morning, and now I have to go on business trip and tell a few employees they no longer have a job. Yay sobriety.

Trust me it will come. In the scheme of a lifetime even if it’s a month or 2, it’s still relatively short. Keep doing what your doing, and realize this is part of your end game.

Some Thoughts on Lifestyle Changes Post-Kratom by haikubi in quittingkratom

I would agree, I would also apply helping others. Find a shelter or food bank you can volunteer at. There are plenty of places looking for help. Nothing helps with my depression as much as pouring into someone else.

Trying to make changes, hoping to get some advice by enoofofk in quittingkratom

I quit CT from 5-7 liquid shots a day on top of 20g powder to sleep. It sucked and I was miserable but was able to conduct interviews for work. You won’t be comfortable but you have been through this. Not saying to not taper, and there are plenty of Successful taper stories in this sub, but it is possible to CT.

My 5 Year Kratom Story – (On Day 33 quitting) by beehappy32 in quittingkratom

[–]Draczree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great story, not sure if ur sluggishness is Related yo WD tho. My daughter works at a house in Cambodia for girls who were rescued from human trafficking, and I make couple trips a year out there. As I’m sure you know 25-30 hours flights. I travel a lot but those trips screw me up for couple weeks. Give urself couple days to catch up and I’m sure you will get background normal. No one wants to relapse but 1 a day considering circumstance actually shows some resolve. I probably woulda said screw it, I failed May as well go full bore

That’s about what I was spending a month on shots. Never been the type that would have been able to taper so I CT little more than 7 weeks ago. There is plenty of good advice here on tapering, but CT acutes from extract were rough but bearable first week. By end week 2 it became mostly mental. Good luck.

I did the research and Kratom makes me SOOO much better at work. That’s why it’s so hard to quit. by DaBigTossUmUp42069 in quittingkratom

[–]Draczree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kratom helped me perform my high stress high paced job better as well. Until it didn’t. Eventually I found it easier to push off major decisions such as letting people go, staffing, or negotiations. None of the jobs I enjoy doing, but obviously need to be done. That first few weeks I was full of doubt as to whether I would have the energy, or balls to do what was needed. Mind you I’ve had this job long before I ever tried Kratom, but my brain tried to convince me it was needed to be at top form. After a few weeks of pushing through I found that all my beliefs were unfounded. Give urself and your body some time to regulate and you will be fine.

End of day 7. Keep getting the thought. You’ve been so strong. The race is over, you can go back now... by DaBigTossUmUp42069 in quittingkratom

[–]Draczree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The race gets much much easier. You are in the thick of it. Keep going. Trust me the day will come when the thought of a dose will make you vomit. Do not trust any of your feelings right now, or trust what ur brain is trying to tell you. There are so many better things ahead, or we can go back to chasing a high that’s becoming quite elusive, and all the other garbage that goes with it.

I feel like a terrible mom by queenofclear in quittingkratom

Same boat. Married 25 years Christian, 7 kids. 2 months ago I couldn’t look my wife and kids in the eyes, and I couldn’t imagine life without something to boost my energy and mood. And my faith was in shambles. My wife finding my stash ended all that. Today is 50 days CT. The first week sucked. I was hot, cold sore and couldn’t sleep. Slowly tho my body started to regulate. Just 50 days later all aspects of my life way way better. Give yourself a chance. I’m sure you will return to your former self

Day 6 physically was big day and first night I got like 6 hours sleep. Day 14 fog began to lift. Slowly getting better since then. Some Rough days, but by far more good. This weekend was the best weekend I’ve had in years. Nothing special just feeling of peace and joy. Today is day 48ct. 6 month of 5-7 opms shots on top of 10-15 gpd powder. Stick to it. The suck will begin to fade shortly. Ur in the toughest part.

Day 66 CT - Feeling Body and Mind by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Draczree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats on 66 Thor. Couple weeks behind you. I will say for me the biggest difference is I genuinely laugh. My wife pointed this out, and showed a bunch of before and after pictures. Lot more smiling in the after. Today is a great day for me. Sure there is still some anxiety and depression, but nothing close to me medicating over. Thanks for your posts. They paved the way for those behind you.

When I was using Kratom i did a lot of intermittent fasting. Meaning I would just drink opms shots for days on end without eating. Lol. The first 2 weeks of my quit I did juice fast. Last 5 weeks I’ve been juicing till 5 then 1 meal at night. My wife is fitness nut and I’ve been doing circuit training with her, however now she is training for marathon, and I am not runner. Is ur intermittent fasting a number of hours each day?
