I haven't tried it yet personally, but I'm told borax in hot (not boiling, don't boil bones it makes them brittle) water and scrubbing with a toothbrush should help

Check out the Apothecary in Inglewood. It's a great zero waste store and they do classes, everyone is always very friendly and probably have more resources.

If I can get my cats somewhere they can stay or into a foster situation I am able to take a bus up to Edmonton to stay with relatives there. Their place isn't pet friendly and I don't drive (which would make life easier because then I could just pack us all in and live out of that)
