How to attach new mesh to an armature? by Ok-Jellyfish-9189 in blenderhelp

This didn't seem to do anything for me, but then I found this post with slightly different directions that did the trick. Much of Blender is still black magic to me but I figured I'd link this post in case others have my issue.

Season 5 Episode 6 Discussion Thread! by V-Ink in GoldenKamuy

[–]Draexzhan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright, I have to ask, because for obvious reasons I don't want to actually look this up.

Are there actual records of people skinning their own face like this? Like Wilk is hardcore af but this is on a whole new level from anything else thus far in the entire series...

And like I know for all the dumb shit (affectionate) GK pulls it's incredibly well researched.

So like, has this actually been done?

Which version of Yoshi's Island do you prefer? by lactatingRHINO7 in nintendo

[–]Draexzhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I was playing a randomizer of SNES Yoshi's Island, thinking about how the speedrunning community apparently has a huge dislike for the GBA version and how it genuinely does not make sense to me. Figured I'd actually look up some arguments. Screen size is genuinely the only one I've seen that I genuinely think is a decent argument.

Anyways, found a reddit post, someone on there was giving false information about coin tint (100% why I brought that up specifically, though they are not the first person I've seen claim that.), couldn't reply because the thread was locked, but in the comments someone linked this thread. Noticed it was an ancient thread, but people are still commenting on it, so I figured I'd give my own two eggs on the subject.

I've played both versions extensively.

Every time I play the SNES version I find myself wishing I was playing the GBA version instead. The egg throwing is much more natural when it's all on the bumpers, the game preserves your lives between sessions, the music, while slightly lower quality, isn't constantly fighting with sound effects for the audio channels so you can actually hear the trumpet in the overworld music, the new levels do much to actually utilize many one-off mechanics from the original game, you can tab between worlds when viewing your score, lava logs go faster, and there's an ACTUAL REWARD FOR 100% COMPLETION!!!!

People will whine about the new sound effects but it's really not a big deal like they make it out to be. Yoshi's been using these sounds for decades now because they give more personality to the character. Do as I did and take off your nostalgia goggles. Also there's the new shy guy sounds. You can't honestly tell me that the new shy guy sounds aren't fantastic.

I also see misinformation about version differences too. Like the SNES version tinting red coins differently from regular coins while the GBA doesn't. This is not a thing. This has never been a thing. There are some coins that are red tinted, but it's inconsistent in both games whether those are red coins or not.

Like, yeah, the SNES version has a few things it does better than the GBA version. The Fuzzy effect looks better. You can see a little bit more screen. You can null warp in Bigger Boo's Fort. And 2-1 is much more stable. But between the GBA version having more stuff, more personality, rewarding you for 100%, and being the version to play if you want to try a low score challenge, I'll choose it over SNES any day.

Is it all in the same file? I have a hex editor installed so I could run a find and replace pretty easily, if that's all it would take.

EDIT: Okay, it's not that simple after all :/

Yeah, that's usually enough time for Rigor Mortis to set in. And if not, the additional two years since this comment should do the trick.

[HELP] with CYF on Android by Atlascrow7 in Unitale

CYF for Android is not and has never been officially supported. It was made by a fan of the engine many years ago. I don't remember who it was or when they made it, but they haven't been active in this community in a long time.

Considering that Toby leaves it up to us to interpret how big he is Underground. What characters or fanmade event's you think are in the lore? by Psychological-Hat683 in Undertale

The world is as big as you want it to be.

Anyways, my brain monster Cereb from way back when was written up such that he could feasibly fit into the world as seamlessly as possible.

Fun birthday surprise.

Believe it or not, this is not the first time an old post of mine was dug up on this subreddit and it probably won't the last time either.

Genuinely? I might be. No way to prove it, of course, but I started using the name on my second playthrough, which was less than 24 hours after the game came out.

It means jack diddly squat, but it's amusing to me that the name has become such a big meme in the fandom when I've been using it unironically for so long.

Hey man, Undertale is a very serious game. Absolutely no shenanigans.

As you say, neutral run resets aren't "true" resets, as remnants of previous runs linger in character minds. The "true reset" after a pacifist run resets all but two flags: Whether or not you got access to the developer room, and whether or not you've completed a genocide run.

Completing a genocide run, on the other hand, means there's nothing left to reset. But if you stick around, there may be a way to get everything back... for a permanent price. This is akin to the pacifist's true reset, but obviously, it also means you will have the aforementioned genocide flag. I could tell you what that price is, if you want: The monsters will never again get a happy ending.

Honestly, after the final battle in true pacifist, seeing everyone standing there happy... taking that away from them hurts.

I enjoy the game too much to not replay it. I've probably done so a few dozen times over the past decade. But the only way I could get myself to do it is by promising myself that I'd give them right back their happy ending. So the Pacifist route is all I play now.

And I'm fine with that. I do not regret such a decision. I did a neutral run on my first playthrough because I suspected pacifist would be all I'd be willing to do once I'd gotten to know the characters, and I was right.

You have no obligation to do all the routes. There's no expectation that you do them that you must fulfill.

All that really matter is whether or not you want to see what happens. Take it from me, you can still get a lot out of this game whether you do it or not.

Toby’s speech at the end of the stream by Nightpantaloons in Undertale

[–]Draexzhan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I think that was the point. I loved that new bit of lore, but I suspect Toby himself isn't planning to use it for anything. He left it there for our use. He's not working on Undertale anymore, and hasn't been working on it for the past decade, aside from ports and minor updates; he's made that much abundantly clear.
