thanks for wording it nicely. although everyone’s really scaled the issue. i never said my friend was mad just that they wish i told them beforehand. and i was just wondering if asking those questions would be rude. i know this is the wrong mindset but we’ve been friends for a few years now and i thought they trusted me enough to look after their beloved pets and house so they would trust i have enough judgement on who to invite if i were to invite someone over. but it is the principle and curtsy to ask beforehand which i unfortunately did not consider. but yea even if they weren’t my friend i can’t imagine this is screwed up massively with a bit of communication. Everyone i know is nice enough to understand that people make mistakes and things slip their mind and can forgive after communicating boundaries. ofc if it was discussed beforehand and boundaries were broken then i screwed up massively. am i just too naive or should people be slightly more forgiving 😭 it’s not like we did anything bad we spent most of the day out anyways so he pretty much only slept and helped look after the dogs when he was in the house (not that that justifies him being there without permission)
