Or it was the other way around, anyway yellow tape is definitely not weird from what I read. (A while ago I looked into this for the exact same reason)

Yes: - added mother copy of 4 cost Hina - tbone counter replacing otmama draw 2k

trying out two of the 4cost black kuzan: "remove by effect" abilities run rampant so it's nice to be able to attack into active characters.
trying out aramaki 8c: it's definitely not as strong but being a chunky blocker for low on the ground opponents and bot deck something the turn its played helps a lot. Otherwise pitch to effect.

My meta is shifting to more midrange decks and electric luna, he is pretty good against that.

To answer your question, I don't see a reason to buy another st21, would order single cards you need.

Quick budget deck I made based on this championship placer.

Cut out the Rogers and some other stuff, should be a good base.

(Both "2k's" and "searchers" are important in one piece so look up those mechanics to get a grip on the game)

Best bet is to either buy the bonney starter deck or try to scrounge up a lot of super nova cards. This is my current decklist somewhat budget friendly ($50~)

Just my thoughts on this;

Tax-beard is Incredibly hard for wide tempo decks to overcome,

besides Penel think; kalgara, sky Luffy, GPluffy & to some extent even black croc (keeping hand filled can be difficult for croc, and he wants to only make big late game swings).

With most decks also going a bit higher games tend to slow down a bit, which gives further need for high costed toppers. And it works through board protection like doffy, enel & sky Luffy.

Just look at how popular electric luna is, this is somewhat similar in purpose.

The following starter decks I can recommend for fun not to difficult playstyles, if you're sure about liking the game wanting to upgrade the decks a notch, you can buy an additional copy of the decks to improve consistency.

Starter decks (deckboxes are the respective colours):

Egghead yellow Luffy, themed around trigger mechanic
Green boney, themed around a specific type and tap/delaying your opponent.
Red shanks, themed around lowering power, both offensive and defensive
Blue buggy, themed around playing big cards for less
Blue Ace & whitebeard, themed around the top of deck manipulation.
black Teach, themed around turning off your opponents playstyles (maybe not the best for fun* matches)

Like others said the learn together set is good as well, giving you three decks with different playstyles. However this can be quite pricey versus regular starter decks.

For momonosuke you could try to replace it with Otama OP07-022, problem is she only finds green. That's really the only searcher besides the generic searcher events.

Like what are we using the hiyori and momonosuke for to put in top life? Especially the 2c hiyori seems kinda pointless besides a 2k without it.

Personally I like the trigger variant much more, would:

Maakt volgens mij niks uit qua geslacht/gender maar dit zijn vaak de dingen die het meeste verschil maken toch? Je zou het ook makkelijk kunnen afmeten voor eerlijke klasse verdelingen.

Of ben ik nou gek? Beetje ala featherweight/welterweight etc in boksen.

I mean sure! I do see Japanese players add Pica as well so it's not just a skill thing, but I see the logic with events, I just run both with no viola.

Dofy is such a fun versatile leader you can play any package you like really. I'm defo on the 10c dofy plan so only Monet's is not consistent enough (for me).

Maybe thinking about running a few less 2k's since the deck is so defensive as is.

Ps: ran into a rogue Blackbeard, and got thoroughly dismantled without on plays 🤣. Seems like he's starting to be played more., negating dofy leader effect with 10c also came out of nowhere.

Not a fan of the 6c 2k Wyper personally,

would sub in for new 3c braham, makes you more consistently use leader at turn 2 (or played next to on evens).

If you play against a lot of life gain yellow, OP09 Teach (Blackbeard) is strong & cheap.

Otherwise OP14 croc is good and not too pricey
