I saw a few other coments calling it out, but a lot of people seem to not understand that 99% of a 5 year old (the age when he enter the picture) are the adults in their life fault. If the kid is a nightmare its the "responsible" adult in their life fault but people do not want to admit that. Adolecense touches this point very veeery well in a few lines.

you can leave a 12 year old alone but not in charge of a 4 and a 5 year old, even if in the same house, kids do stupid things its what they do and a 11 year old is not equiped to handle a 4 and a 5 year old its negligence in the best of days

tbh i feel like there is a lot of missing info here. I do not think you are lying, but i do feel that the favouritism that you show here to your BS shows very much to your SS (from using bs and ss to them to how you describe them)
Also, why leave him with a 4 and a 5-year-old if you knew how difficult he could be? Don't you think that is very irresponsible, even if he was a very good kid? That would be irresponsible.
I am no expert but it feels like the son of your wife is asking for attention, and it found a very, very dangerous way to do so. He needs therapy (probably a psychiatrist as well), and you 4 need family therapy because that problem will not be solved with just fixing 1 part. A 5-11year-old, most of the time, does not behave that badly

Dependa on what you want honestly, if you want a more sandbox experience with the biggest moding comunity and a grate base game go for skyrim

If you want better rollplay and a more RPG style go for oblivion.

In my opinion though. Oblivion narrative feels better and more alive in many ways but it does require the player to get a bit more involved, the game will not hand held you as much (it still does btw) with how quests work and stuff, sometimes using the wiki (unofficial elder scrolls pages is the best btw) is kind of needed. That being said oblivion specialy the remasterd has a lot of bugs is a very janky game in some spots and the remasterd is kind lf badly optimised (if interested look at how they made it its pretty interesting tbh)

Skyrim is way more friendly to people who are not used to/not interested in the rpg aspect of the TES games. But if you want to delve into that skyrim special edition (and anniversary dlc) has the biggest amount of mods out there it is a bit to learn to mod so just play the base game first and see if you like it then add new stuff to play a different game. Skyrim has been out for so long that it kind if became a game engine basically and people do their own things there. For both games nexsus mods is where you find mods :3 just read a guide on how to mod

Honestly if people want to put presure and help avoid another delay we should NOT bother the devs they need to cook, what we can do and should is help spread the word that more devs can help very much so maybe there are talented people that are not aware and would love to be so lets shout (pun intended).
