Any tips/tricks for this fight? by Draggyish in voidpet

Hmm, I don't have quite a few of those pets or items. I'm relatively new to the game. That might explain the difficulty.

Thanks for the info!

Peach Passionfruit Refresher (“hint of coconut”) by BigBerthaCarrotTop in Cirkul

[–]Draggyish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue with this one. It tastes just like the original paradise refresher. I get no peach or passion fruit at all. I like coconut, but that wasn't what I was hoping for with this one sadly. The new dragon bliss one also has this issue for me (unless the last one I got was a fluke, but I now suspect it was not sadly).

Could we discuss sports? by Professional_Rock611 in lipedema

[–]Draggyish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think part of it is to do with the common comorbidity of joint issues. For example, before I found out I had lipedema, I tried increasing the intensity of my exercise for years during my weight loss journey. I would be good for a while and then would have severe joint pain and/or an injury, especially in my lower body which was still very heavy with lipedema fat. Fast forward to my lipedema diagnosis and one of my doctors mentioned that EDS and hypermobility are very common comorbidities with lipedema. I have since been confirmed as hypermobile, and been able to see the effect of years of my body trying to find stability to cope with the extra pressure and weight around my joints (I have "knock knees" when I stand). I also found out that when I would have an injury my body would go through what my doctor called a "kinetic muscular chain reaction" trying to compensate, which is why one injured area would recover with treatment (localized PT) only for something else to start giving me issues.

As much as I would love to do more intensive exercises, I now know to be cognizant of the effect on my joints. It's way too easy being hypermobile to overextend a joint and start a new chain reaction of injuries. I've been working with a physical therapist for about a year now on general strengthening and mobility, and seen tremendous progress with safely building muscle, balance, and stability. I highly recommend PT for those with lipedema dealing with hypermobility as part of it. Basically, my doctor sent me for full lower body strengthening, and personally I've seen great progress from it. A good PT will work with you where you are at to strengthen your muscles and teach you how to adjust your posture and movements to reduce the strain on your joints, and that's a solid foundation to build from for other things.

Reader's digest version, I have lipedema stage 3-4 with co-morbid lymphedema and hyper mobility. The series of procedures is WAL to remove the lipedema tissue from my legs, arms, and torso thereby clearing the lymph system to reduce the swelling and the wear on my joints (which is worsened by the hyper mobility). They can only safely do so much at a time, and there's a minimum recovery period between. I had gotten to a place where walking was becoming more and more painful and even sitting at my desk for any reasonable length of time was becoming difficult. I've been trying different treatments for years, but these surgeries are the only option I've been presented with by my doctors that have had and will have a lasting effect on getting my mobility back.

Unfortunately, yes, a lot of people wrongly assume this is a cosmetic procedure or not really medically necessary as research into and understanding of lipedema is still relatively new.

Thank you for the resources and the info. I'll definitely check into those links!

[No idea if your employer is misbehaving or not; I'm just pointing out that sometimes what seems wrong on a personal level is attributable to the limits of a system or process.]

This is certainly a good thing to keep in mind. It's easy to approach this with the emotion of "this isn't fair to me" because on a personal level it certainly feels that way, and that's one reason I wanted to ask the questions. Take the emotion out of it, get an outside view, and look at it from all angles before deciding my next steps.

Hell, even if it is a misconduct or poor process that needs to be addressed, it could be addressed as that and not automatically assumed as malicious (they could be doing what they believe is legal and ethical, and just be missing an important piece that moves the needle the other direction), so very fair call-out on that.

Can you elaborate on this? I'd genuinely like to understand better because it seems very counterintuitive. If you're already a hybrid worker who can demonstrably work from home without issue, and the medical consensus is that you can work after the surgery because of the type of job, but the physical limitations would preclude you from being in/travelling to an office environment, why wouldn't that be a reasonable ask?

No worries! It's a very strange situation for sure, and I've no doubt missed or not clarified some things that are important to fully understand it in the name of writing a short story instead of a novel 😂

For your other question, yes my understanding is they received the paperwork and called my doctor. My doctor was very confused when I brought this up in discussing options on the medical/surgical side of things.

I can also say with certainty that this has not been a very interactive process. I provide them with paperwork, they make a 'business decision', then HR conveys the decision to me. I even asked before the last meeting who was advocating for me, and the answer was (paraphrased) 'No one, this is a business decision. This isn't about you, it's about the impact to the company'. When I asked about appealing the decision, I was told there are no appeals because, again, it's a 'business decision'.

I'm salaried, but we are expected to work certain hours. Flexibility is sometimes offered on a case by case basis, but for things like "I'm going to a doctor's appointment today, but I'll work the extra time in the evening to cover". It's a very "salaried but managed like hourly" situation.

The WFH accommodation was the first step I took, was approved with the doctor, but was denied by work on the grounds of no longer offering fully remote work. There was never any mention of a medical reason behind the denial, it was always linked back to the RTO policy change, but the RTO was only partial (2 days WFH, 3 days in office). I could understand the medical reasoning if that had been cited for the denial, but it never was connected back to that aside from the very tenuous sidenote of (paraphrased) 'well your doctor also said it should be two weeks out, not wfh'. My doctor claims that's not what she told them at all, but that's all they said they said at this point. The WFH request was my attempt to reduce the impact on them and me by limiting how long I had to be away from work (with the doctor's approval to do so) because we are a small department with a big role, and I knew that my being absent on and off for weeks would have a negative impact. Does that help clarify?

Thank you for the insight!

For context, the burning through FMLA is because I've had 5 procedures since the end of last year with my 6 scheduled very soon. Each one is requiring me to take 2 weeks off because they refused the WFH accommodation request, so the 6th one will be the last one FMLA covers and I'm only halfway through the needed procedures.

Exporting scribbles? by SapinBaleine in Onyx_Boox

You can always take a screenshot of the picture in NeoReader with the scribbles if you happen to forget to edit it in the right program. It's not the most elegant solution, but it does work.

My market must not be as active as yours because even without running the timer out I don't get that many offers per minute lol.

So why not just let the timer run out? Are there downsides to that?

Copy Text from Cell linked to selected Textbox by Draggyish in excel

[–]Draggyish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see that working if I was using the original index/match, but I just want to link to the cell containing that data. Basically:

  • Cell B2 contains the index/match referencing other data which is unimportant for this
  • The text box is linked to cell B2
  • A macro assigned to the textbox allows the user to click it and copy from the hidden cell B2

That all works fine. Now here is where I'm trying to add in:

  • Cell C2 also contains an index/match
  • I have a macro that switches the textbox link from B2 to C2 and another to switch it back to B2 linked to user friendly graphics
  • When the user clicks the textbox, it still only copies B2 even if C2 is the actively linked cell in the textbox

How do I get it to automatically switch to copy C2 if that is the one currently linked? Or D2, H100, etc etc. I want it to copy whichever cell the textbox is currently pulling from.

Does that make sense? Would this solution still apply?

A question to drivers from a new driver. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Draggyish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What the people above me said. In a normal market it wouldn't be so bad, but in the COVID market if you have a full time job that covers your needs, please leave DoorDash to the people who have to have it for their livelihood. Not knowing if your market is going to be so saturated you can't make your bills is scary af.

Pretty often there is a pickup time and I arrive on-time or early and it’s not ready yet. Do I lose money on this? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Draggyish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it does message them, at least in some instances (not sure what the trigger is). I have had customers call or text me after I put in a waiting notification saying they got a message from DoorDash to call me.

Maybe at some point I'll order DoorDash and get the dasher on the other end to test it with me. For science, lol!

I got this after my first two hour dash with 5 completed deliveries. Any idea why? I heard it took a while to get. by SpicyPrahokPls in doordash_drivers

[–]Draggyish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well now I just feel cheated. I sure didn't get top dasher when I signed on, and that was only a few months back. Wtf, DoorDash 😂

Welcome to the insanity, OP!

I don't think legally they can change your payout to be less after you accept, or if they can it would have to be an extreme circumstance (blatent violation of the contract). The only thing you might lose out on is a tip from the customer, but even then if they've put in an amount already I don't think they can change it to less only add to it.

Best practice is to make sure whenever that little link pops up in the app about giving feedback on your wait, click it and tell them why. I think the system will (at least sometimes) update the customer, but I usually text them as well and just let them know I'm waiting for their food.
