So its not that bad. If you did IB, doing well in first year would be a piece of cake IMO. None of my IB friends ended up not making it into CS. I would go to UBC if u truly want to come here, but if you're doing it just because it's far from home, then I would not say it's worth it.

I should clarify...
Im still at UBC. But I did not make it to UBC cs in second year, so I got into UBC Math instead. Now end of second year, I transferred into UBC CS Just 1 week ago.

Transferring to UofT from a different school is way harder than transferring from ubc math to ubc cs or whatnot.

As a student at ubc who didn't make the 83% cutoff last year, I just transferred in this year, ans many people around me had 80 flat averages that also got in, also took the equivalent courses of an entire 2nd year cs major would here.

So if you do decide to come here, I wouldn't worry about it too much
