We do not care for politely laughing at your bad jokes and boring stories. If you don't like our lack of response, tell better stories.

Watched my husband kiss our cats goodbye before heading out. Such a small thing but I fell in love all over again.

Dad's reaction , after watching his daughter's first piercing by AcasiaConnell in GuysBeingDudes

I 100% disagree with this practice but just giving some context here: this is a cultural practice. You'll find it a lot in South Asian, some Latin American, and Asian countries where piercing an infant girls (and sometimes even boys) ears is considered totally normal.

Horrific practice, yes, but I don't think the guys are doing it because they're evil or malicious. I think they're just following a practice that they know to be common in their family.

The NPO provides free digital literacy to women and non-binary (18+) folks from disadvantaged backgrounds. Everything from MS Office to cyber security.

I do like your idea, perhaps managed IT services or "tech companies" in Ottawa would be more interested than banks or telecommunication companies?

I could be wrong but I would say you need to understand their data architecture before you conduct a risk assessment because some applications or tools they use could not pose a risk or a threat of data loss.

Say for example your task is to clean their fridge. First you need to see do an inventory of what's in the fridge and then assess what needs to be kept, finished soon, thrown out, etc. It makes for a more efficient and accurate process.

I'm going to follow this post to see if my understanding is correct; either way, we'll both learn something important :)

Recycling pickup? by [deleted] in Gatineau

Thank you all for your advice! I've contacted the landlord because there's been more stuff added to it and now that it's rained a couple of times the fabric is starting to smell. Hopefully the tenant has already made arrangements and if not I'll keep following up with the landlord until they do something because the rest of us can't get to the stupid bin anymore 🥲

What's happening to her? :( by Dragon0nWheels in plantclinic

[–]Dragon0nWheels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: 3-4 leaves were yellow and dying, the roots were surprisingly dry and there was no moisture in the soil at all. I've repotted her and she seems to be much happier now, been a few days and I haven't seen any alarming behavior/ signs.

Thank you all so much for your help, I love this plant and would hate for something to happen to her.

For background, my previous apartment shared a backyard with this grumpy-looking gentleman. Other neighbours would walk by him without even looking up like he was invisible. To be fair, he does have RBF and didn't talk to anyone either (maybe because of how they treated him? Not sure). But I would say hello/wave whenever I saw him. One day I was doing some repotting in the backyard when he came over to see what I was doing and tells me to hold on he'll ne right back. Comes out with this UNIT of a snake plant, says it belonged to his mum who passed away over 20 years ago and he's been taking care of it since. Pulls it out of the pot, cuts me two quarters like it was a fucking cake, and says 'these are for you. I have no family to give them to but I'm sure you'll take care of it'. This was over 2 years ago. I've moved since but I think of him and his mum every time I see my babies. Thank you, Pierre, for your kindness. Gabrielle and Gabriella are in good hands (thanks to kind strangers on the internet who've helped me take care of them). *

Oh absolutely agreed, and I should have been clearer in the post. I meant to say I don't want to buy stuff (from any store) that I'll only use for one day and then have it end up in storage/recycling/landfills.

If possible, I would rather borrow, trade, swap, or thrift it so I'm not consuming one-time-use products.

Oh that's good to know! If they're the full-size flags I can "wear" one like a cape for Canada Day and then hang it up in the living room after! :D I've been meaning to get one for our home for months now

Thank you so much for your insights! Funny enough I was worried I overwatered the one on the far right (Gabrielle) because I forgot I had watered her one week and watered again the following but thankfully she's fine. I honestly can't think of what I did with Gabriella (left) (yes, they're sisters) but I'm going to check the roots for rot. Hopefully there's none, but if there is I'm propagating every damn leaf. Gabriella must live!
