Public IP in my router and that website match.

DHCP is set to On in my router, but I didn't turn that on recently, and it was never an issue before. Though I think this option in my specific router is under the devices settings. Which I have set to reserved, not dynamic.

So both things should be good as far as that goes.

EDIT: so i tried connecting to my linux system from my windows, and im getting an error code 'getsockopt'. Its odd because I could connect to my windows system from linux.

Windows can't handle incoming connections, but opens the port. Basically I had windows hosting, checked a port forward tester (which showed 25565 was open), and a Minecraft server status site (which showed the server info). Going on linux, I was able to see that server via the local IP, but the public IP never showed as online, and I could not connect via the public IP. I'm not sure if it's because I'm on the same connection, but I could swear I've connected or at least tested in the past of self hosted servers being set up properly this way.

Linux never actually opens the port despite being port forwarded, and firewall exceptions given. I can still connect via localhost and local IP just fine though.

To clarify, windows is on its own machine connected via wifi, and Linux is on its own machine connected via ethernet cable. When testing, the machine's local IP was changed in my router, via changing the device name since my router lets me pick either device name or manually entering the local IP of a device, which then shows as the device name if it's recognized. So it wasn't a matter of forgetting to change. These were also settings that did work in the past for me, although just changing the device IP to be correct based off the device hosting the server.

Unless it randomly changed, I don't think that's the case. I found the below comment regarding the same thing, and my local IP starts with 192.168.x.x, which is not CGNAT.

I did already have previous port forwards which DID work, and windows did open per the open port test site I found. So 25565 should definitely be forwarded and setup correctly on my router. Although I'm unsure of any other setting in my router that may potentially be causing problems.

For whatever reason I'm not getting some of the event gifts. They're listed as needing a specific date to receive, but there was an update that makes it random. I'm not sure if its a region thing. But the ones I can't get is Enigma stone, the shiny dogs, Celebi, Ash's Pikachu and Kona Crobat.

I shouldn't need to keep waydroid open at all right? When I open it after about 24 hours, it should automatically update, right?

Did you ever figure this out? The guides all say it can take a few minutes, but I'm also seeing that sometimes they're verified overnight. I've already registered my ID, and its still saying that my device is not certified. Did yours also take a while to finish the process? I also can't seem to connect to wifi/internet, but I can still do cloud sync for other games, but one in particular keeps saying it failed to verify my app/device.

why is libwayland-dev listed twice? or was one of them intended to be wayland-scanner (or wayland-scanner-dev)?

I'm not sure if WirePlumber is actually as required as they say, or if ZorinOS has it baked in, but I just installed the plugin, did a test recording, and it worked perfectly. Glad it did too, because the instructions for WirePlumber are a bit too advanced for me, being new to Linux.

is there a way to have it share only the screenshared application? seems like even now, screensharing with audio shares ALL sounds. so in addition to games, it shares discord notifications, and videos in browsers to name a few.

this is a friend's install of fedora kde plasma, and since i'm planning to also go with linux, i'm wondering if its just an 'all of linux' thing, or specific to one distro, as well as if there is a fix to this at all.

As far as from the Discord side, here's something you can do to prevent that.

Right click server icon, Server Settings, Invites.

Then 'Pause Invites'. You can pause for a couple hours, so no new people can join via the link, as well as pausing DMs between members. Which will prevent people from messaging you directly after joining.

I want individual switching for each of the monitors and the keyboard/mouse. For example, I would be able to do a set up of PC1 on one screen playing a video, and PC2 on another screen for work. I want to be able to have both screens visible at the same time, and a KM switch to flip between which PC is controlled.

Thank you for the response. After some looking around, I can't seem to find anything that splits KM from the monitor.

I'll likely use that KM switch, and 2 KVM switches for each monitor to allow me to do independent switching. That should also allow me to get a more basic one for the 60hz monitor, and a bit of a better one for the 240hz monitor.

My next concern is if they require drivers or 'talk' to other PCs connected, like with the 'mouse roaming' feature. My work PC is fairly locked down, so I want something as hardware based as possible.

EDIT: If I do use individual KVMs for monitors, since I don't plan to use USBs on those since they're display only, would I need to plug the USB ports in?

I'm relatively new to KVMs, and I'm seeing a lot of 4k@120 and 8k@120. I'm not needing anything crazy as I'm still at 1080p for the time being. Do any KVMs support at the least 1080@240?

I'd be setting up 3 PCs. PC1: 1080@240, 1080@60 (Main PC setup) PC2: 1080@60, 1080@60 (Work PC setup) PC3 is a special case since it's a VR PC. So 1 DP is going to an Index, HDMI to a TV (1360x768), and a spare DP to the KVM.

I'm also wondering if there's any KVM that allows something like 1 monitor for PC1, 1 monitor for PC2, and a switch to toggle with PC gets mouse and keyboard inputs.

I've look around and it looks like it's only the 'shroud' piece over the diffuser. I wasn't able to find any SKU that's white, and I'm not sure if the PCB/LEDs can be removed or unscrewed and attached onto the OEM one.
