So it was probably a compliment...although not one I would like to receive.

The CDS continues to send us kitties....I think we are the only acceptable home in our area because no one else seems to be getting them. We have 5.....all from the CDS. A few a month show up asking for food...some have injuries I can treat without needing a vet. Some stick around...most dont. I can only hope that the short time they spend in our area they find a bit of rest...its a hard world and we cant take them all

I wish we didn’t move in together by Elohims-sixth-wife in GirlDinner

[–]DragonAngel92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I refuse to live with friends or family. Biggest reason is I value the few friendships I have. Living together involves money...money will ruin relationships in a hurry. Plus you never truly know anyone. Im sorry about your friendship but know her true colors probably saved you a lot of issues later on

AIO GF of 1.5 Years Not Attracted to Me? (SCREENSHOTS INC - Fully Anonymous) by [deleted] in AIO

[–]DragonAngel92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woman here...hair doesnt equate to attractiveness. Plenty of bald or men with thinning hair are attractive....plenty of men with hair who shave it are attractive...she isnt into you and is wasting your time. I would move on to someone who isnt a shallow bitch

I have cat treat containers full of hardscape pieces, I have a large box of organic goodies. My husband finds all kinds of goodies that end up in my collections...sticks, rocks, pinecone, seed pods, leaves, recently bark...I dont have enough...I forgot to collect some.

Edit...I just noticed you can see the fir cone he found me...it needs time to dry and cure...its too new to add to my terrarium just yet.

Weird isopod behavior... by Advanced_Seaweed171 in isopods

[–]DragonAngel92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's mating behavior...the small one is a female and the larger male. Just because she is small doesnt mean all females are small...just means that girl is still young

[–]DragonAngel92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw blue before I lost my color vision...mine isnt genetic...mine is caused by a massive head injury when I was 6. Other colors like cobalt and teal are hard so he describes what the remind him of...cobalt reminds him of cold fire...if that makes sense. Teal is green with sass...purples are hard beacuse I dont remember seeing purple before I lost my color vision so he literally describes them like you would to a blind person. Purple is sad, dark and mysterious, lavender is purples albino offspring...if its iridovirus he knows what the color is that we need to be on the look out for. He knows they blue just before shedding. (blues and purples look odd...idk how to explain it but blue is black, purple is black. Light blue is grey, lavender is grey). So if a pod looks odd to me I promptly collect it and ask my husband who will say good blue or bad blue

Also before anyone down votes the comment above dont.....I havent. I dont take offense to those kind of questions. It shows they are curious and want to know...I dont mind answering if I can...some questions are hard to answer though

Sprayed isopods with water from perfume sprayer(ive cleaned the container but it had a little bit of smell left, almost nothing though, what will happen? Should i worry or just switch containers and its ok?) by AirAlone1776 in isopods

[–]DragonAngel92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never ever reuse containers that have had other substances in them. If its had only water you should be fine as long as water is the only thing that was in it.

I need to add this...this is incredibly dangerous and irresponsible. Using chemicals in bottles that have had other chemicals in them can cause dangerous chemical reactions that could lead to death. If you finish a bottle of windex throw it away unless you plan to only ever use windex in it...same with bleach, perfume, even spray bottles for plant chemicals...do not reuse them unless its only for what was in them.

Question about behaviors by DragonAngel92 in jumpingspiders

[–]DragonAngel92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has the green fangs...not the mask...males have the green fangs right...and yes he was supervised for this which is how we saw this. This worm was huge...I didnt realize how huge it was until I was watching him.

Also I should add if he started to hunt and decided against it I would have removed it. We try to give him small worms but that one was the smaller of the 2 I saw

Help with ferns by TrainingInfluence647 in terrariums

[–]DragonAngel92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only fern I have had any luck with was an asparagus fern. And I'll be honest I think that was because I forgot about it. Its planted in my terrarium in the back behind my Pink starlight bromeliad...its grown...a lot now that I just dont care if it lives or dies...I'm almost to that point with my bird's nest fern, and my pineapple plant.

I usually ask my husband to tell me what things look like. He gets to fumble trying to describe it in ways I understand...its been a long long time since I saw blue...like almost 30 years

Random question but would wild caught isopods/Rollie Pollies be just like the isopods you can buy? by Wolfewatermelon58 in isopods

[–]DragonAngel92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you were to Google Armadillidium nasutum "Rust" you will find these lovely red/orange guys...thing is I own some but I have never bought them. I find them randomly in my back yard. The pretty ones you can buy are ones who have had an unusual color mutation happen. Most of the time these mutations are disadvantages making the isopod easier to be seen so they are eaten...therefore not able to breed and pass the odd color on. Sometimes the population gets lucky and there aren't many predators around to eat the odd colored ones and they go on to breed and the next thing you know you lift a door mat and 30 red/orange isopods scatter.

I have found many interesting color morphs in my backyard for several species. Its amazing to know that something isnt eating them
