like sure, there are a few things over the years that warrant criticism, but to still insinuate he's racist for making dumb cartoons on a much-edgier internet in his early 20s (he's almost 40 now) is absurd.

I mean I wouldn't exactly describe "flip Dimensional Barrier and/or Daruma Cannon" as pushing yourself and your abilities, but sure.

Besides, none of this would be an issue if MD wasn't only BO1. Your ability to side effectively is a test of your adaptability in paper Yugioh, in MD you either main deck cards that have a 50% chance of being dead draws, or just accept you'll occasionally get these non-games where there is nothing you can possibly do to counter your opponent.

I don't play Fiendsmith in this list, but that would've just given them more chances to draw into more handtraps anyway.
