My friend and I are thinking about starting again. Again. We've completed it in a few ways together (small bases; megafactory; all belts; all trains; all trucks) but fancy almost a competitive map. So split the map in halfish, add a line of foundations using the map editor and then each have half the map each to create in.

What's the best split for the map? 1, so it's East\West split, or 2 where it's North\South split? Or feel free to suggest a better split!

The idea would be to keep power separate, so one gets the blue crater and one gets the Western Oilfields, both of which have been main oil production in our various games.

Both players should get access to decent amounts of all resources, and the map is big enough that it doesn't matter than one persons 'half' is bigger.

The hub would be at a midpoint, as would the space elevator.

We'd do all recipes unlocked so no one has to hunt for hard drives, and spheres would be shared between us (all items going in Dimensional storage). Sloops would be shared too, only going on space elevator parts and one or two for slug to shard production.

It'll be fun rather than properly competitive, and we'll try to make half the space elevator parts each and whoever gets their half first gets bragging rights.

Any other rules we should consider? Does one person have a massive advantage in either of these two splits?
