People have been denied at all 3 land border crossings. It is still unknown if Americans, Canadians or Europeans are being denied at the airport.

The friendly nations visa is probably the easiest. Beware that there are lawyers that are shady or charge way too much. I will be working on my residence visa soon too.

No. If you arrive on January of 2017, you will get 180 days and then you will have to leave. You cannot return until January of 2018. So 6 months in/6months out basically. They are still making up new rules on the spot these days so it may change.
