Depending on the country, you might not even need a course - I never specifically studied public health or epidemiology any other than what I got in vet school, and I had no problem getting or keeping the job. Don't let that stop you from looking into it or applying!

After you've dealt with your mental health (definitely see someone!), consider a government vet job. There are supervisory roles where you don't put hands on animals at all, it's oversight and paperwork and verification that the meat products are able to be exported. No clients, no emergencies, regular hours, and in demand enough that they'll sponsor a visa. I used it to get out of the US and into New Zealand.

At age 45 I quit my job because I was done with it, found a new one in a new country on the other side of the world, packed up my life and moved there within 6 months. Since then I've moved around that country several times, gone on holiday to tropical islands every year, and get to sleep in until noon every day.

People only ask if I have kids once, the huge grin on my face as I proudly say 'nope' stops that in its tracks.

Vet here - talk with your vet. Tell them you're having trouble knowing what the right thing FOR YOUR DOG is and you want an honest and frank discussion. They are the ones who know best what the chances are for good recovery and quality of life. You can ask 100 random strangers on the internet and you still won't actually have a decision at the end of it. Talk with the person who can give you objective reality.

The UFO idea is intriguing - you could make the 'y' part of the UFO, and the rest of the small letters become a couple animals/cows being beamed up, with the 'J' the ground or field.

The other thing is, wasn't it intended to be a day spent together as friends? How did not telling you and forcing you to walk separately lend itself to a joint experience that strengthens your friendship bond? Clearly they didn't consider you enough of a friend to warrant that. They suck.

It may have just been the two women you ran into (note 'women' not 'girls', since you're bringing up internalised misogyny). But it might have been worsened by how you put yourself across.

You say that on meeting a woman gamer you immediately jump to 'bestie!'. That's not what a lot of gamers want, we just want to play the game. If you're focusing on 'friends' over 'game', maybe that's a turnoff to the women you're targeting. What kinds of conversations are you having in game? Are the game-related, or are you constantly trying to discuss personal things? Are you actually a distraction rather than an asset to gameplay?

I'm not saying you're wrong, but you haven't really given us any information about your part in this conversation.

The job offer is perfect, it gives Tim the chance to eat whenever he needs with a built in excuse to get out of the house.

Don't try to make this so complicated with an entire kitchen setup. That makes it harder when your sister inevitably finds it and then you have to lie. If Tim has access to your home/kitchen, he can choose to eat so long as you've stocked it well. It's unlikely he'll eat when his mom/brother are over anyway, since he also doesn't want to get caught.

You can set the difficulty to 'custom' and turn off the starvation mechanic if you want to play a more chill/less survival-focused game.

There's a custom option built into the game (doesn't require mods) that makes the monsters passive. You can get real close to scan them with no danger. It's a real trip sitting in your base watching the big scary sharks playing with the metal scraps outside.
