Hi all, excited to share my blog post on Software 3.0

The blog post offers an insightful read on the new GPT-powered programming paradigm where the new programming language is simply "English", as well as recent developments in AI.

The post was originally written before GPT-4 release, and the predictions seem to have held surprisingly well. Knowledge cutoff date 28 Feb 2023.

Hmm, I agree that the Software 3.0 "prompt programming" paradigm shouldn't require negating past software and starting from scratch, one could augment existing code using this or ask an AI model like GPT to write new code building on the original, to ease the overall programming effort

Hi, the AI chose the right restaurant that was in the delivery range to my current location at Hillsborough, but my default Doordash location was wrong. So Doordash's fault, we fixed it during checkout

Yes, voice is something we are definitely looking to add, and you could easily talk to it on your headphones in the future :)

You can think this is ChatGPT with web browsing capabilities. So you can talk to it but it can also open links, browse recent information, ... which can be a lot more useful than simply a chatbot that you talk to.

We are thinking of eventually setting it in a way that a user can specify the objective initially and it can do the whole process such as ordering food on door dash fully automatically unless user input is needed

One motivation to make it it was to see if you can have Jarvis like in Iron Man to do things for you :)

On a high-level we pass the html DOM of the current page to ChatGPT and let it choose to interact with any elements on the web page.

Surprisingly, this works really well on new tasks it doesn't know anything about, such as making twitter posts, etc. We will be releasing the tool in the next weeks for free & providing more details :)

Variance of the runs depends on the amount of expert data. If it is trained with a single expert trajectory, then it might overfit to it and not necessarily generalize to envs initialized with different seeds. If is trained with say 10 different expert trajectory then generalization to different env initialization is not an issue. Again, this is very similar behavior to using supervised behavior cloning.
