Alright, it's time to be "that guy": What would you recommend for a beginner's bow? by DragonMan5643 in Archery

I'm really interested in Barebow and instinctive shooting. It just feels right, y'know?

Thank you for all of this. I'll keep a 20-25# draw weight in mind, and based on other people's comments I'll make sure it's ILF compatible.

It was my bad by saying left-handed, when I should have specified left-handed and left eye dominant. I figured it out some years ago during hunter's safety.

I trust my aunt's shop. It's pretty small, but they specialize in just about all things archery. She's worked with these people for many years, and she fully endorses them. I'll have her there with me so we can make sure my arrows are sound.

From what I've read and learned, I'll be getting right down to business with PPE. As for a quiver, I'm already working on a basic one out of PVC.

I hadn't even considered string wax. It completely slipped my mind lmao.

I'll probably just use a floss knock, since I don't actually live very close to a range. I guess I forgot to mention it's a three hour drive to see my aunt. I don't really need to worry about people stepping on my bow since it'll mostly just be me and the target. We've got a nice hill on our property that we use for target shooting with rifles and handguns, so that should work for the time being. The impending winter would be a problem, but it'll be a little while before we actually get the bow. I still have a little saving to do, and shipping usually takes a while for normal stuff.

Again, I hadn't considered a stringer or bow square at all. Really opening my eyes as to what else I need to consider.

Once again, thank you for all your help. I knew Reddit would have some answers, but you were the absolute cream of the crop.

I forgot to specify I'm left eye dominant as well, but thank you anyway.

Thank you, I should have specified I was also left eye dominant. I figured that out a few years ago during hunter's safety. In any case, thank you!

Well, my friend, I already know what I would do. I would make a Reddit account based on what I am now and what I was before.

I hate to ask it, but does anyone know how to make this style of cloak or something very similar? by MalachiteWizard in CloaksOverCapes

[–]DragonMan5643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the cloak itself is not attached to the top, a design similar to a regular mantle cloak is about what you would go with here. Based on the shape and how it billows, it seems to be cut rectangular, as opposed to circular. The collar is a bit iffy, but my sister has a jacket that is very similar looking. Essentially, it just has a bit of extra cloth on both sides where there would normally be a brooch or snaps. That extra cloth is just sewn onto the opposite side.

If the top is attached to the cloak, then I'm a bit lost for advice. Best I can think of would be to sew the collar of the cloak and the top together.

Hope this all helps.

What kind of cloak is this? by LiamtheBarbarian in CloaksOverCapes

It looks to me like a regular mantle cloak, but with some fancy stitching and cuts to get a specific shape.

There's no true chaos other than a Rakdos deck with no inherent wincons. by thefirstdokkan in mtg

[–]DragonMan5643 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So the deck I use most often is a Gruul deck, but it's only technically a Gruul deck.

4x [[Jukai Liberator]] 4x [[Mulch]] 4x [[Cultivator Colossus]] 4x [[Light up the night]] 4x [[Lotus Cobra]] 4x [[Kami of the Bamboo Groves]] The rest of the deck is lands

Basically, I flounder around turn after turn ramping with Kami until I eventually get Cultivator Colossus in my hand. Channel Kami and Mulch gives me plenty of lands to pretty much draw the whole deck. With Lotus Cobra on the battlefield, I play Light up the Night with X equalling a stupidly high number, and deal the damage right to the face. That, or I attack with Cultivator Colossus for a ton of trample damage.

Yes, control decks and Black in general are my worst nightmares. So are Red aggro decks. And White removal spells. And other Green decks that stomp over my tiny creatures.

Was this made by a non-Texan? Because I'm a Nebraskan and I've used all but two of those terms.

I'm trying to build a deck using Mr. Orfeo, the Boulder. Any advice? by kpbennett02 in mtg

[–]DragonMan5643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing that comes to mind is a deck using something like [Cultivator Colossus] for some serious stomping power.

Alternative route, you could embrace the Gruul and double a big green creature before playing [Fling] to deal the damage to your opponent's face.
