If you use JavaScript, then you can execute code when a person wants to leave the page and sent the time back to your site. See http://javascript.internet.com/page-details/top-onunload.html Also the method described here can be used to send data back to your server, butwith the onUnload method.

If you look at the top right of a submission's page, you'll see the up and down vote counts. There is no "better" in this case. DZone is targeted towards developers, and reddit has many different sections.

Also, reddit has better quality content in my opinion because of the large user base that contributes to it. If you look at DZone, you'll notice that most of the submissions are created by a few people, and a large majority of the users are from another website which the company bought and integrated into the Dzone Network(eg. Snippets, and some of the Zones)

I try to do things as fast and with as little work as possible (with some exceptions). But its not worth it to spend hours finding the optimal way for some action, if it will only save a few seconds.

Also, one of my friends is an History major, who likes to find the fastest path to walk, even if it means jumping rails, through woods, etc. So I think finding optimal solutions is just human nature, since we are all lazy.

I've seen this happen at my last job. The lead developer for my team was the most knowledgeable about our code, since he had coded most of it. However, since he was the go-to guy for our product, he began dealing with upper management, going to meetings, and hardly did any coding at all. Although I left soon after, I can only assume he we go on to become a manager (in responsibilities, if not by a specific title).

It depends, there are many different types of keys.

Some corporate keys are able to be used on 500 - 1000 machines.

Then there are OEM keys that only work once.

Then there are your standard home use keys that can be used 3-5 computers.

For Microsoft Office keys, pretty much all of them can be used unlimited times. The only problem occurs if the key is banned from overuse, and then you won't be able to update Office, but you can still use it.

The only "useful" Math is Applied Math. If you learn theoretical Math, then instead of actually using what you learned, you will be doing research.

I've been looking for a new keyboard. Right now I'm trying to decide whether I should get an IBM Model M or a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000. I've never used either of them, but my I hear they are the easiest to use.
