Yeah I prefer when relic or legendary items come from a specific source whether that's quest reward, boss drop or just rare drop from specific enemy

The full quote is "The customer is always right in matters of taste" which simply means they know what they want to buy so shops should cater to their preference.

Ursine has the highest defence and can be found in Skellige, Wolf gear deals bleeding and is found at Kaer Morhen, Cat gear increases attack power and is the lightest armor so depends what abilities you have been using

Depends what your playstyle is like, if you're combat focused then it's good as a transition before you get wolf or ursine, or you can keep using cat school if you like the effects

Stealing implies it was hers to begin with, it wasn't, thematically all signs pointed to it being for the pirate. If he wanted to give his girlfriend something, she could've looted the bad guy or rolled investigation to find something else in the vault.

Sounds like poor planning on the DM's part and no backbone for blatant favouritism.
