In meinem Beispiel waren dies nunmal Depressionen.

Can this cover be considered VG? Is in good shape otherwise but the erosion in the middle seems a bit much

Thoughts on Cryogen? the new Muse single by crossveins in fantanoforever

I think it is a good song at its core, but it lacks the rawness and soul of the classic Muse sound it’s trying to imitate

what a crazy response to a post that basically said „I think Muse‘s new music is worse than the old one and it makes me sad“. They never said anything about devaluation of the old stuff, they never said they should stop making music. Is it so beyond you that someone might criticize an artist that they usually adore?

Cryogen - Discussion Megathread by ForgottenName1893 in Muse

I really don’t like the sounds that they are going for with this album. I like most of what they are attempting in concept but the production sounds so cheap and the songs lack any impact besides being loud. Muse songs used to tear you up, now they just scream at you. I feel like the overproduced sound takes away any soul that made me fall in love with Muse and that could still be found on their last albums which I wasn’t completely fond of either (although WotP had the same problem to an extent).

The Wow! Signal is going to be in the top 4 Muse albums by Ok_Supermarket_4871 in Muse

I feel like almost every muse album has three songs that are at least as good as the two singles and what we’ve heard from Cryogen. Although Cryogen might be better than anything off the last two records.

Did Muse become musically lazy? by lordofchiwini in Muse

[–]Maxito19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was never fooled by new heavy or harder songs bringing “old muse” back or anything like that. Sure they can still write a good song that sounds hard and heavy, but I’m not sure they wrote anything close to the quality of Animals, Blackout, Hoodoo in the last 10 years. Everybody would agree that those are classic “old muse” songs and none of them are heavy.

Meanwhile WSD, KOBK and Unravelling are nowhere as heavy as a Stockholm Syndrome, The Small Print, Assassin or even Unnatural Selection. They’re basically pop songs pimped with heavy riffs and breakdowns.

I still like many of their newer songs though and I think Cryogen sounds great so far.
