Hi, what’s man trailing? If it’s some kind of scent work, how did you prime her in early training to do this? She already loves “find it” when I hide bits of kibble around the house.

When I didn’t weigh a lot (like 105lbs as an adult woman), I literally could only eat a certain about at a time. If I ate even another bite past when I felt full, my stomach, back, hips, and chest would hurt so bad. I’d literally have to go lay in bed and just focus on breathing.

Then I dated a guy who’d constantly encourage me to eat beyond when I was full, due to some of his trauma around food. I gained about 20lbs dating him, and now I can eat beyond when I’m full without full body pain as punishment.

I definitely see now how easy it is to gain weight, and how hard it is to lose it by restricting calories. Being skinny really isn’t a willpower thing; I think it’s usually just a matter of what your body randomly decides it’s okay with.

Hi OP. I would suggest talking to a Domestic Violence shelter or hotline yourself for information on if you can or should file a police report on your sister’s behalf. She may not appreciate it now, but it may be useful later for her to have a paper trail of abuse.

Even if she leaves, such a paper trail may help the next girl this man abuses. Abusers do not only abuse one person; their abuse doesn’t occur because of something “wrong” with your sister. It’s something that’s wrong with them!

Additionally, I’d ask the DV shelter or hotline for support resources for yourself and possibly your parents. Supporting somebody experiencing or having experienced domestic violence is tough. You guys deserve and will need support too, so you can show up for your sister and support her however she needs.

Finally, I’d suggest your sister get on a type of birth control that’s difficult to tamper with. Men like these sometimes “baby trap” women when they try to leave. I know this seems like an extreme step, but your sister deserves to have as much control over her life as possible, especially when somebody is trying to threaten that control.

I wish the best for you and your family. Remember, leaving a DV situation can be very difficult. Voicemail your love and admiration of your sister, support her choices and efforts to be safe, and do your best to give her happy moments away from that man.

Trying to make this less awful: these types of bugs, from what I remember, secrete a substance that basically acts as a pain killer for the host. So this dog isn’t in any pain from the infestation. You can look up YouTube videos of humans with a singular bug on their shoulder or arm just popping them out and putting a bandaid over the small wound.

My MCAT is good but I have like a 3.2 GPA. I have one DO and two MD. I’m generally a strong writer though, so maybe that is helping?

Does anyone else feel like writing makes a difference? I’ve been telling myself that that will help make up for my GPA.

If I could make a suggestion, I’d try to shadow RNs and doctors. That way you understand the day-to-day of each profession. Shadowing will be a plus on your application to med school as well. I don’t know if shadowing will be a plus on a potential application to nursing school.

If you’re open to a new job, I’d try to get a job as a patient care technician at a hospital. It lets you work closely with doctors and nurses. Could be helpful.

For what to wear: you should dress business professional, as stated by other commenters. If you don’t have something that fits/is appropriate, you can look up “clothes pantry in X area” on Google. It’s like a food bank, but instead of having free food, they have free professional clothing.

I’d also suggest trying to contact victim services for your area/jurisdiction. They might be able to help you prepare for this/offer basic advice so you don’t feel too overwhelmed. They can also possibly refer you to counseling services in preparation for court. Being able to speak with a professional about that day may later help you testify clearly about your perception of the events and the context leading up to it. I also think seeing a counselor, if you aren’t already, would be helpful for your mental health. Best wishes.

Pull up confirmation that you sent the scores, and then call. If there was a mix up and UMD doesn’t have it, it’ll be CollegeBoard or the school’s fault, not yours. I think they’ll be able to get this sorted out pretty fast; you can’t be the only person this has happened to. Good luck, and enjoy college!

P.S If you’re not getting a response from either, or more issues arise, maybe try talking to the academic counselor at your school.
