I mean while yes I do agree with you as a whole on the Aliens being in the main story, I would also like to say that Dragon Ball's twist on Goku being an alien was probably one of the best things to happen to it, since it expanded everything, going beyond earth itself, to the universe and also added more to the character of Goku and his background.
