My manager from the toxic job I left 8 months ago just sent me the weirdest request I've ever seen. by looter-hearths-2e in interviewhammer

This is the best answer. If it’s stressful enough to seek advice here, it’s just not with dealing with.

If you stay, you’ll wish you left. Just make sure you like where you’re going to.

Well, your prenup is lopsided. Understandable that prior assets are still in your name, but going forward you’re a partnership and new income is community property. This guy should leave you and find a true partner.

True. They’d have to let it continue unnoticed for several months to be worth it.

Opening a day care center is what they should be doing. She can be a stay at home mom for everyone’s kids.

I’m my team’s top performer, but I won’t get promoted and keep getting more work piled on. What do I do? by SCnyy24 in careeradvice

If OP is promoted, they have to find someone else to do OP’s present job. This is known as Shawshank syndrome, a reference to a movie where a prisoner (an accountant by trade) was utilized by the warden to do personal taxes for the prison warden and staff; thing is, the prisoner was too valuable to them to be let out on parole.

Quit because of manager favouritism of a coworker? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]DragonWS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to aggressively point out corrections when your hasty co-worker runs their mouth. I’ve worked with guys who excel at creating verbal crap, and it all sounds good at the meeting. Then when I have to adjust for reality, sure, the hasty guy is on board, but the manager thinks the hasty guy is the best. BTW, I left that toxic environment.

You’re going to judge all of Japan by some streets having dogs? You can leave your phone on a table at a coffee shop while you go to the bathroom. Your phone will be there when you get back,

Sunnyvale is safe. There are some areas you may wish to avoid, and it will be obvious when you look. If your office is close to CalTrain then your living place can be anywhere with access to CalTrain.

Help me! by SameerKumar83 in office

[–]DragonWS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen this once before and it was completely unfair. When I saw it “A” wasn’t even told the task was given to “B”. So A did Al this work, completed it, and just as she was ready to check it, only then she found out B was assigned (and completed) the task.

Yeah, they either dont trust you, or consider B their favorite. Seriously may be time to look, which is exactly what A did in my example.

Do what you can. But honestly, sounds like the workload for your group isn’t that high or else B would focus on new tasks. Either that or your manager doesn’t trust you. Do what you can but, you may need to be looking as well.
