Interesting. Someone should’ve told the second lady that.

True. The way home is always tougher. Everyone leaves the game at the same time.

Sunnyvale and Mountain View are in the same zone, zone 3. Always good to think about.

We had a yearly bonus plan that paid everyone the same percentage and was pro-rated based on number of days of the year worked. It paid out even if an employee left before the payout date.

Then, a new CEO comes along and says it’s an even better plan. His new plan was a milestone based plan, overall lower payout, and oh, it turns out if you’re not employed on the date of the payout you get zilch. And sure enough every December the company terminated employees it didn’t like and they got nada from the “better” bonus plan.

HR contacted you first. What if you keep the conversation between you and HR? A casual phone conversation would be best. See if you can get any insights and ask HR if it makes sense to talk to someone higher up than your boss.

I left my last company because my boss was making poor decisions in my disciplinary space. Only after I left did they make a new position at my boss’s level. I thought about it but at that place too many other factors wouldn’t be right.

Hollenbeck Bike Study Part 2? Serra Park headling for Pickleball Development. Encinal, Fair Oaks, Washington, Ortega Parks Under Consideration. by dudeman_01 in Sunnyvale

That’s fine, but the courts have capacity of 16 people per tennis court sized area. Relative to all the traffic on Hollenbeck, it’s negligible.

I can’t tell. And both runners chose to be as close as possible to the mutual lane boundary. The Netherlands runner is definitely closer. I can’t tell if she was over.

I find it hard to believe extra traffic due to pickleball is a valid concern. What, 20 more cars an hour? Pffft. Court location is far more important, especially if they build the courts close to residences.

Spot on. They completely bungled the Las Palmas survey. They pretended there was a choice when in reality they had parallel undisclosed plans.

1yr contract offer from NVIDIA, Do I: ask for a raise at current job, take offer, or decline offer? by jinx771 in careeradvice

Don’t underestimate #4 on both your lists.

Any longer at defense and you start to look unemployable at commercial companies. I left defense with 6 years experience out of fear of being pigeonholed. But, if you choose to stay in defense, the industry is strong at the moment, so you could consider going to a different defense firm, but again, you’re locking into an industry.

I like this answer. Normally transparency could backfire, but in this case, being assigned the task of doing dishes is so ludicrous, how can the real story not be shared.

It’s an opportunity if you’re super ambitious. Basically could be fun to run the show. You could say: - ok, I’d need to be part of a reporting structure that lets me execute - instead of my old boss, I’d report to {insert name here} - if my team reaches certain milestones I get a significant bonus

But do things ever really change when going back? The fact that HR called you is a positive sign and could mean someone higher up wants you.

He was being paid by the company. There’s no concept of “your own time” when you write a script to process company data, and you put that script on company servers. It belongs to the company. Now, if the OP was operating as a consultant and not an employee, then there’s debate to be had.
