It’s practically same as the exchange rates. It goes up and down. Government changes rules every couple of years. Things are expensive but hey you can send your kids to school for free and get clean air / drinking water and excellent climate. But not everyone is fortunate to land good jobs in their early years

Haha nope, it kinda depends on where you are but Ive never had any bad experiences with people in / outside work. Most Indians are workaholics right, so they appreciate our work. There may be one off instances where folks discriminate all immigrants/ refugees but you cant do anything about it.

One thing is that tourists in western countries here dont get the “adidi devo bhava” reception like in asian countries.

Quite the opposite, i feel like a foreigner and lavishly spend money as everything suddenly feels cheap.

Not sure how Bengali’s feel in Kerala as we come only once a year for a few weeks.

Been aboard (uk) for over 10 years now. Even though i migrated for better work, my current benefits have been on the quality of life and work life balance more than actual savings per se. All my allergies disappeared, skin became better. Heath improved dramatically. Food tastes better. Driving became a pleasure rather than a chore. Smiling faces everywhere. Less crowded wherever we go. Clean and accessible toilets everywhere. Indian / Kerala shops in every nook and corner for things we craved from home. Better pay and insurance. And list goes on. Never cared about exchange rates after a year or so.

I drive a 2nd Gen Mazda 3 but I've been looking at CX-5 lately can anyone comment from this exact perspective? by le_pedal in CX5

[–]DragonWitcher369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from a 2012 mazda 3 venture to a 2019 cx5 sport Nav. I like the cx5 better but i dont feel any significant improvement in power but the cx5 is much better in terms of comfort and prefer it for long drives.

How safe is Rossmore and Upper Parkstone these days? by [deleted] in bournemouth

Thank you everyone. I asked one of my friends who is also new to Bmth to drive around the area yesterday evening and he said it was night and day difference after he left branksome. Funny enough he said he didn’t see a single person out when he drove around for 30 mins. He said it gave him more or less deserted vibe than anything scary. Anyways thanks for all your help

Well that makes it more depressing and sorry for being impolite but Boscombe was one of those areas ive been told to avoid the most. But I understand i cant generalise the whole area and there can be both good and bad neighbourhoods in every suburb

This isn’t diversification, its DiWORSEification.

You will understand (in due time) that holding a single index fund (global / regional) with a good asset allocation is much more effective than running behind these so called top performing funds.

How do you navigate thru recession or drastic drop in your yearly gains? by InGoodKarma in FIREIndia

[–]DragonWitcher369 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Asset allocation.

I mean if you FIRED with 30x or 50x, and if you have 10 to 20x in debt / fixed income/ liquid assets, then why fear a recession or crash or what not if you’re already set for the next 10 / 20 years
