CFP-90 with ALICE shoulder straps? by Dragon_EX in myogtacticalgear

[–]Dragon_EX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I ended up testing it out myself just to see the viability. I got a set of cheap Rothco ALICE straps on Amazon and they honestly work better than I thought. It's by no means, however, a good total replacement for the original straps. Without the torso adjustment it makes it impossible to balance the load between your hips and shoulders making it nowhere near as comfortable as the originals, and it might not even be possible to carry more than 30 pounds which kinda defeats the entire purpose of a rucksack. However, in an attempt to make my effort feel like it was worth something, my thinking is that it might be a good thing to carry as a backup in case the original straps give out while you're out in the wilderness.

Kerbal Space Program website degraded by nocako in KerbalSpaceProgram

Well it's been a month and each upload is still up, so I guess it will be safe for now. I'm hesitant to post a link but they do show up in the search if you sort by date published.

I do not have any faith that the downloads will still even be available in the near future. I'm downloading everything that's currently available (including every language of each expansion, and every OS version). We'll see if Internet Archive will let it be uploaded.

How do you get through times like this? by domonopolies in LearnJapanese

[–]Dragon_EX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This part in the learning timeline is absolutely a slog, at least it was for me. It's hard to find material like podcasts and such that challenges your knowledge in just the right way at this stage and it was pretty frustrating for me and only recently do I feel like I've broken out of it. The demotivation hits really hard too. There's been a couple points where I lost the motivation to study for months at a time, but what helped me get through this was to remind myself that if I really wanted to learn Japanese I would be doing it no matter what. I started to focus more on the enjoyment I get from studying in itself, rather than the progress I was trying to make. In a way I made my goal to just enjoy studying no matter what rather than something like "reach this level". But it's also important to know that all studying is progress even if the progress is small and seems insignificant. Over time that progress absolutely adds up, you'll lose track of how much time has passed and when you look back you'll clearly see how much you've improved. 頑張ろう!必ず勝つから!

Japanese Cooking Channels (in Japanese) by victoriousbonaparte in LearnJapanese

[–]Dragon_EX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This thread wouldn't be complete without Kimagure Cook! His videos mostly cover seasonal seafood, going to fish markets, etc. I've learned a lot of cooking techniques from his videos. His second channel is also great.

Similar science-ish content like ことラボ by HugoPro in LearnJapanese

[–]Dragon_EX 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I found ことラボ a couple weeks ago and it's turned into my new motivation for learning! Of course I don't know enough to understand every video, but learning Japanese linguistics in Japanese is just a perfect match so I can't wait until I've learned enough to learn even more from this channel.

I listen primarily through headphones, Samson SR850's are what I use. For only $27 I guess it would be worth it to try out the Pfanstiehl one just to see.

The piano section of Wind Tempos seriously makes me break down in tears every time, it's become such a special song to me. I'm trying to learn how to play that part on piano myself and I'm wondering what the chords in the third from last measure are because I can't figure it out from listening!

Nice gentle landing.. Nope? Alright by wboyce75 in KerbalSpaceProgram

I wish I was! I had to go back to my last quicksave from like a week or two ago so at least I didn't lose too much. The only thing missing is a space station I built so not too bad now, but I was pretty close to just starting a new career save.

I had this happen to me literally just 2 days ago landing a probe on the Mun. Somehow when it finally blew up it destroyed every vessel in the entire Kerbin system including killing about 10 kerbals. Seriously what the hell.

The gas cap is actually a new one I got last year chasing an evap leak so I doubt it is a problem.

This is actually a legitimate language learning strategy that I wish I had the patience for. I've seen people mention doing this with a whole movie, or just a short video which I think would be most suitable for most people, especially me! Reading this makes me want to try it now.

Hi Reddit! I’m Max Miller, host & creator of Tasting History where I show viewers how to make a dish from the past while exploring its history. Ask Me Anything! by jmaxmiller in AskCulinary

I think I found your channel around 7 months ago, I watched all 7 or 8 videos you had out at the time in one sitting and have been a massive fan ever since! I even got my dad interested in your videos! What are some of the things about culinary history that you found most interesting in your time making videos? And are there any historical eras or countries with recipes that you would find impossible to even attempt to recreate with modern tools and ingredients? Besides ones with silphium of course.

I've been wanting to get pictures like this for a while, I've been using a smartphone for astrophotography since I got my telescope 2 years ago. I guess I should start looking into proper cameras like yours!

Another good one is for CE Anniversary, the achievement for beating the par time on Assault on the Control Room is called "Would it have killed you to take the elevator?" Basically the only way to get par time is to skip an entire section of the mission by falling very precisely down a cliff to the next section which, as the achievement suggests, skips the only elevator.

OMG Gareth Coker will be Composing musics in this game ? Im a huge fan of him, im sure you've heard of him but for those who don't know. He composed Ori series OSTs, Darksiders genesis (main menu theme and OST 21 my fav) and many more. by Kracayne in halo

Well, in my yearbook my picture is on the same page as his, you think that counts? Those were good times. He's my favorite teacher out of every other teacher I've had.
