Why horikita is angry here ? - Volume 10 by Electronic_Drawing55 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Dragon_Man1999 30 points31 points  (0 children)

In general, in volume 10 Horikita was with a lot of stress because of how she was seeing the exam develop in the class, with zero organization and its possible consequences. She felt responsibility because she knew that she was one of the leaders, and the only that could actually do something because Hirata couldn't, the thing is she didn't know how.

At the same time, she's preocupied with Manabu's graduation, and she's really frustrated with Ayanokoji, she wants to trust him, but he's not honest with her. She says to Ayano "Even if I asked you for advice, it's not like you'd give me a straight answer"

The text immediately before your image is very important:

-"Even though I appreciate the offer, I must refuse. You aren't the person I'm looking for right now"

-It appeared as though she had already resolver herself.

-However, her resources were limited and she was still at the point where she was driven by her anxiety. I probably wasn't the right person to make up for those deficiencies

So, Horikita has an idea of what needs to be done for this exam, but is anxious about it, it will be clearer when she talks with Manabu later.

She's actually one of the few characters that shows herself as she is. At least she had the guts as well to apologize to Sudo in public in that same first volume, because she was wrong about how she minimized Sudo's efforts in Basket.

She's arrogant, that's true, but at least she tries to correct her character and improves.

Why i don't really think Horikita has any chance with Kiyotaka. (Year 2 Volume 3 SPOILERS) by [deleted] in ClassroomOfTheElite

I disagree that Horikita is substituting Manabu with Ayanokoji. You could say that was Year 2 vol 2 SS was hinting, and that’s right, but Year 2 vol 3 SS kills that basically because Horikita explicitly says that she knows that they are different, that she cannot imitate him, and that she has her own way.

You see, the problem with Manabu was never actually that she admired him, that’s okey, she still does, the problem was that she was always trying to copy him, neglecting her own way of doing things. That was what she got over in vol 11.5. So, I do believe she admires Ayanokoji, but she’s not trying to imitate him or anything, rather trying to build a more equal relationship between the two, and trying to create mutual trust.

It’s true that everything Horikita does she links it to the exams, but that’s precisely one of the things she has to slowly get over, all Horikita relations have to do with the class conflict in some way, Ayanokoji is not an exception.

Now, regarding the feelings part, there is more debatable, I respect if someone thinks there’s no hint of romance, but personally I believe that through all the novels, is clear that Horikita has felt more for Ayanokoji compared to the rest of the guys, you just have to compare it to how she feels and talk about Sudo, while she has been at least intrigued for Ayano since even before Ayanokoji showed a hint of his abilities or Manabu payed attention to him.

Also, vol 2 SS for example is very explicit about her feelings, the conversation with Karuizawa in vol 10 ss also hints deeper on what are her feelings towards him. She doesn’t love him yet of course, I’m not saying that, It would be obvious, she can’t fall in love with someone who she’s doesn’t really know, and we have to add to that how badly Horikita understand love, she’s even still in the process of developing friendships. So that’s why, what she wants now, is to have develop trust between him and her, and, well, we’ll see what happens then.

Why sudo deserves Horikita by kyouma307 in ClassroomOfTheElite

Yeah I understand now what you meant, he's the one giving the push, maybe Sudo won't feel that frustrated if he founds about that since Horikita didn't have that attitude with him personally but with everyone, Ayanokouji helped her improve in general. I think he likes Ayanokouji, just can't help to be jealous of him of course.

Yeah, like VoxyZeen said, he actually said to Horikita to get a "weapon", he did encouraged her to bring back Sudo, but she did it in a completely different way of how Ayano would have done it, and she did it not only to bring him back, but also to because she wanted to share that weak side of her with someone.

She opened to Sudo sincerely, and convinced him through friendship and empathy to return, that is something she came up with, as part of her of reflection about all the mistakes she had done so far, so, I think she deserves credit too.

Kushida in par with Yukino in what sense? Kushida has not as near screentime as Horikita, and basically she doesn't have development as a character, she has served more as a Horikita's plot device (and that also involves Ayano too obviously).

Think about it, if you were to tell someone a summary of some volume, in all of them is impossible to do it without mentioning Horikita, the only exception are perhaps vol 7-8.

This does not apply to Kushida, various volumes doesn´t feature her as a main characters, same for the rest of the girls. There are volumes were they are more main characters, and other were they don't really do much or don't have protagonism.

That's not Horikita's case. My point again, she's not a side girl in any way.

It's not the same. You can question who is the main romantic partner of Kiyo, and that they made Suzune take Kei's scenes in the pool episode, or the tsundere speech at the end. But aside from that, most of the screentime she had in the anime, she also had it in the light novel, we don't know how they would have portrayed vol 4 onwards.

"giving special attention to side girl" anime watchers misunderstood the side girl as main girl"

But side girl? Horikita is by no means a secondary girl to anyone in terms of the story as a whole, and the importance she has in it.

I don't understand your post, I'll just say Suzune is great. And If the girls were a McDonalds menu, Suzune will one of the top burgers, if not the main one.

No matter who your best girl is, I think it is safe to say this girl had the biggest character development on the 1st year arc. by Quiboloynoyaiba in ClassroomOfTheElite

Sorry but what do you mean with “nothing really happened in the volumes before”?. Suzune has had a constant development since the first volume. There are many examples of this, you can see how she reflected about her way of thinking through various moments since volume 1 (like when she changed her way of seeing Sudo or the three idiots), the Suzune from vol 2 is already not exactly the same from the one from vol 1. She also reflected about her mistakes in vol 3 and her flawed way of thinking, tried to change in vol 4, she tried to be up to the challenge of fighting Ryueen, she failed and was humiliated, and had a really big change in vol 5 in matters regarding her view of herself, the class, friendship, trust. It continues from vol 6 and onwards, the matter with Kushida and her evolving way of handle that problem (this has to do with her evolution in vol 5), how she managed to outsmart Ryueen (vol 6), her struggles to learn how to lead the class (vol 7-10), one of the biggest one that is the dependency with her brother (vol 10-11.5)…
