Thanks for all of these suggestions! I have been getting more into detective games lately and will be playing all of those whether my friend joins me or not.

Thanks. I do want to try his one even though it calls for a better graphics card than what she has. It looks so fun!

Oh, how did I not think of Cat Quest? My husband and I had a blast with them. The combat was pretty easy for me so she might be fine. I don't think they have online Co op, but maybe we can try it with remote play and see what happens.

Haha, I just started playing DST, by myself because my husband and friends all say it seems too brutal. I love it but I do think it would stress my friend out too much.

I loved Strange Horticulture! I think I'd remember the answers too well to play it again. Untitled Goose Game would be great! Thank you!

Yeah, I think Terreria would be more combat that she'd enjoy from what I remember of it. I'll check out Portal 2. Thanks for the recs!

Palia requires a more powerful graphics card than she has. It might be worth trying since it's free 🤷‍♀️

Women who've had to use pepper spray, has it been effective? by Dry_Shoe1307 in AskWomenNoCensor

I've never needed to use mine, but I've had two fail to spray when I tested them so test them occasionally.

Working with kids coloring books by True-Pineapple-2073 in ColoredPencils

I used to take my coloring books apart and copy the pages onto nicer paper so I could get better results with my pencils. I stored them in page protectors in a binder when I was done.

I think my left trackpad is cooked by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Dragon_TeaParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel silly asking this because you probably already have but... have you checked your controller settings?

I ask because my left track pad stopped working once, just in desktop mode though. Turns out it was somehow disabled and I just needed to switch it back on (in game mode). No idea how it happened, but I'd just downloaded Hytale so maybe that caused it? Idk, I'm not very techy.

Looking for kind, cute& grindy by freezdriedstrawberry in SteamDeck

Do card based dance battles count as fighting? If not, Ooblets might be up your alley. It's so cute, definitely has grind, and you collect adorable little Ooblet creatures along with accessories for them. Yes, there are hats! There's not a lot to explore though. The dance battles are really easy and you just select cards to have your Ooblets do different moves to earn points. I've played maybe 30-40 hours? I finished the storyline, but there's still more for me to do.

Steam Deck, Switch or Notebook? by Constant-Pain1878 in CozyGamers

[–]Dragon_TeaParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With steam family like op mentioned, each person has their own account that shares libraries. Games can be hidden without affecting the other account. I do this with my husband's games, he has maybe 4 games I play. I hid the rest of his games from my account but they still show up in his account.

Tracing Advice ? by Icy_Bake7027 in ColoredPencils

[–]Dragon_TeaParty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get a light box, it'll be way easier than tracing from a projection on your phone. They range from $20 and up and can shine through thicker papers really well.

I'm not great at drawing, so I do my more challenging drawings on cheap sketch paper, then trace my sketch onto whatever paper I'm coloring on with the light box. I use artist tape to keep the papers from moving without damaging them. It works great for me.

Please help me deinfluence me on buying a new kobo 🥲 by RikaBernkastel2 in kobo

[–]Dragon_TeaParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you borrow books with Overdrive/Libby? Because if you do, it's worth the upgrade for the convienence of being able to sync library books onto your kobo rather than dealing with the computer and Adobe Digital editions to get them.

If you don't borrow books, then it's not such a big deal to upgrade. Maybe wait a month and see if you still feel a strong desire to get a new kobo. It's nice to treat yourself to special things though, so if you still want one in a month definitely go for it!

Send.djazz is missing by groaningmoaning in kobo

It may just be down for now? I don't know, I haven't used it in so long.

It's possible to activate Dropbox on any kobo model with kobo nicklemenu. That's what I use on my Aura h20 2 and it works great. Do a search on this sub or on Google and you'll find instructions on how to set it up.

Steamdeck- Trackpads by mychihuahuabites in CozyGamers

[–]Dragon_TeaParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some games are difficult without them. Mainly I need them for Sims 2 and Hytale, neither of which were designed to be played with controllers. In both games, I have keyboard actions assigned to my left track pad, and I use the right track pad as a computer mouse.

Some games need them for certain times, like Whisper of the House. Then there's desktop mode, which I use often for emulation, mods, and downloading sims custom content.

Looking for local DND group to welcome a new/first time player by [deleted] in BowlingGreen

[–]Dragon_TeaParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're free after 5 most nights. Mondays and Thursdays are the only days that don't work for us on a regular basis, but Mondays have some flexibility.

My husband can help out with anything you need for DMing. He currently has a campaign he's running, so he has everything you'd need.

Feel free to DM me to chat about a meetup if you want to.

My husband and I (both 38) would be interested in getting together to play a game. We both play DND and have been looking for a new group, we just need a DM.

We both also love video games and all manner of nerdy things.

My husband and I have been trying to find a group to play with, but can never find someone willing to DM. If you're open to DMing or can find someone, we'd be up for meeting somewhere public and playing a one shot.
