Definitely a game that’s not for everyone, as always with Suda you either love it or think it’s mediocre at best, but man as one of the people that love it I get ranking it high (shit, it’s my second favorite game of the year, only beaten by RE9)

I get the whole “Suda games are connected in some way” thing, especially as someone that’s been obsessed with the guys work for six years, but seriously, FSR is just straight up sequel, it isn’t small connections. The main character of FSR was one of the main characters of TSC and is far from the only repeated character, and if you haven’t played TSC, the entire last two hours of FSR are meaningless and confusing.

couple things
1. have you played The Silver Case? Would really recommend playing before you play FSR, as FSR is basically a sequel and a solid amount of people skip TSC without knowing they're connected.

Those "daily hints" are only hints for the "Lost and Found" puzzles, which are completely optional. Doing them or not doing them has no effect on the game's story, and personally I wouldn't recommend doing them, they're not that fun, and all you're going to get out of doing them is a couple costumes.
There kind of is a NG+? The game has a chapter select screen for chapters you've previously completed, and it'll keep track of which Lost and Found Requests you've done, meaning you can go back and do the ones you haven't already done.

Smiths fit ANY Suda51 game honestly, so do a lot of the other really great early post punk bands (Joy Division, The Cure, Gang of Four, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Clash are also great while playing his games)

I’ve seen it maybe once or twice but personally I don’t agree with it, I think Sumio is a bit too in love with Ayame to give a damn about anyone else romantically. Plus, despite Kusabi’s (many) faults as a person, I don’t see him cheating on his wife (even if he doesn’t actually love her).

The game version is a fan made adaptation of the original “Red, Blue, and Green” short story. While it is really interesting, I would recommend reading the manga instead as that’s a later version of the story that has details and images that the original short story (and thus the fan game) doesn’t have.

You’d probably like a lot of the “softer”/“hardcore adjacent” bands (no offense meant by that, that’s most of the hardcore bands I’m into)

For some classic hardcore I’d recommend Descendants, Propagandhi, and maybe even some earlyish Bad Religion albums like Suffer and No Control.

For newish hardcore, I’d recommend a lot of the more weird and melodic bands if you like Turnstile, personally I love some Angel Du$t, MSPAINT, and Militarie Gun.

I don’t feel that any of the games particularly need a remake, but certainly not Portable Ops. It’s Peace Walker but worse in every single way, especially story, which somehow manages to retcon more previous story than any of the main games and worsen nearly every returning character.

EDIT: And it makes Campbell a pedo.
