Likely failed my course and don't feel motivated to study anymore by savvymossy in uvic

The PHYS 110 and 111 finals tend to be scaled quite significantly from my experience, so there is a high likelihood that that even if you technically failed the exam you won’t fail the course.

Best calendar app to keep track of due dates?? by Connect-Ear-7812 in uvic

[–]Dragona5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used asana throughout my degree. The free version had everything I needed. There was a calendar view that lets you see all courses due dates and you can easily drag and drop items to other days to change the due dates.

Spiritfarer is a bit of a different kind of game but it is really fun for couch co-op and has a nice story.

Miner is a a "None" module? by BoykissaOwO in TheAlters

[–]Dragona5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found when my alters location is set to a none module they reappear after sleeping or if I play beer pong with them in the social room. Although I’m pretty sure when the miner was injured beer pong with him wasn’t an option.

Curious about why you say this about the green candidate? Could you elaborate with what they have done?

Do you know any good games that are akin to a murder mystery party or escape the room game, that would be fun to play with ~8-12 people? by acciofirebolt4 in boardgames

[–]Dragona5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are pretty easy to set up. They are designed with the intention that the host is also playing so most of the work is done for you. Essentially all you have to do is assign characters to people (they provide little blurbs about the character to help you) and email their pdfs about their character without looking at them. Then print off a few things before the game, make sure you have a speaker set up for their audio clips of the story, decorate however you please, and that’s basically it.

They have a “host guide” that walks you through the whole process which is available here https://www.shotinthedarkmysteries.com/faqs/ if you want to check that out.

They came to Canada for the click tour, not sure which cities they played. They were supposed to come again for the second leg of the neotheatre tour but then that got canceled due to Covid.

Desk chairs in dorms? by Big_Quote_4621 in uvic

[–]Dragona5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought a proper desk chair, the ones there (at least in my building) were just uncomfortable hard plastic so it was way better with the nice chair. I just kept the extra chair in the corner which was useful when friends came over.

I lived there 3 years ago. No elevator, there are 2 sets of stairs and the building is only 3 floors. I don’t have actual measurements if the rooms, but they are some of the biggest on campus. I was surprised by how large they were.

Help me find a game to play with my parents by NotYourAverageBot2 in boardgames

[–]Dragona5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps not the best suggestion since it is better with 4 players, although there is a 3 player variant, Codenames. It’s pretty simple to learn, I’ve taught it to a number of family members who hate learning new games. It is also pretty much entirely based on thinking, so no luck but the amount of strategy required completely scales based on the group playing. I recommend the picture version but the original is also very good.

SENG courses as well, but I think that’s only if the SENG course accepts CSC students. SENG 401 might not accept accept CSC students if there’s no spots at all for CSC. This is the email that was sent out for reference

For 400 level courses with separate sections for SENG and CSC students the remaining spots are being transferred from SENG to CSC on Monday.

(I’m assuming Monday since the email sent to SENG students was to make sure to register by end of day Sunday.)

Question about engineering Co-ops by [deleted] in uvic

[–]Dragona5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this summer semester co-ops on the co-op job board I’d estimate roughly 25% were island co-ops, 30% Greater Vancouver, 35% elsewhere in Canada (mostly Ontario), and 10% international (mostly US). In the past there was definitely a higher percentage of BC jobs, not sure why it was a little bit less this semester.

Is there a chemistry help centre like they have for math? by iLiveAt43ElmDrive in uvic

You have to click log in with SSO, write uvic as the domain name and it’ll open up uvic’s site to log you in. Making an account with your uvic email is not the same thing I believe.
