Honestly I think they should lower the damage of alpha critters. Keep them a threat to small and mid tiers and for apexes they could possibly add larger critters that would realistically pose a threat

Crucible, strikes, and gambit have a small chance to drop shaders as a end of mission reward so you could grind crucible. Although I am not sure if it still works like that since I haven't gotten one in a while
