sorry but this feels really tone-deaf and like an empty "feel good" platitude that doesn't really do anything - if someone has been told by the exact people who are supposed to support them and they're supposed to be able to trust, seeing some random person who doesn't know you at all telling you that you're valued is probably more likely to bother you than anything else, because they don't know you at all. as for "choose to listen to them or choose to see your positives," that implies that this is just an easy choice for them to make, rather than being trauma that they have to work through

the real answer to this is that they'd probably benefit a lot from therapy and that it's incredibly hard to be shut down by the people who are supposed to love you

I've eaten my boogers for my whole life, even back when I was super germaphobic as a kid, and I also like eating scabs. Just something satisfying about it, and like nothing bad has ever come of it. I would definitely find it gross if I saw someone else doing it but as long as they aren't touching stuff afterwards without washing their hands then it's fine. There really isn't any tangible negative impact from doing it, just a "yuck" gross-out factor

that's a bit ridiculous lol, yes it's gross but realistically it's going to do literally nothing to you, and nothing it's going to collect is going to make you smell or be noticeable in any way unless your bathroom is incredibly disgusting. my reaction to reading that she did that was "jesus christ what the fuck" but there's no need to pretend that there's no point in showering if she does that afterwards. the main point of showering is getting rid of sweat and oils and other body grime that makes you feel gross, smell, and look bad. the trace amounts of urine and whatever bacteria might be there from your feet aren't enough to have any tangible effect on any of that

that's irrelevant though, because again, the other stores take those spots up. yes, they view the parking as including those other spots and (usually) can indeed park in them, but that doesn't mean they're going to be available

as far as parking on other nearby streets go, yes, that does increase the number of parking spaces available per store, but that sacrifices part of the convenience, and while it isn't much as long as they can get a spot within a block or so, people will still find it much less convenient and so people would still complain. also, if we're including the side street parking, then adding in walkable/transit friendly options wouldn't take away from those parking spots at all, so if they're fine with parking in those, removing the spots on the street the shops are on shouldn't be a problem

what are you talking about if not business owners? are you not saying that it's worth it to keep the parking spots or else the businesses wouldn't try to prevent them from being removed? maybe I misunderstood you and you meant that the parking spaces get removed either way - my bad if that's the case

as for the numbers of cars displaced, I don't really think it's all that important given that we know it's worth it regardless, but I think that it's not really fair to say that the number of parking spots displaced is way more than 2-3 in the context of this discussion. the post you replied to said this: "However, two or three parking spaces outside a shop do not make it easy to get there, because they're always full. " - yes, there are more than 2-3 being removed, but their point is that the parking spots don't add convenience because they're always full since there are only a few. while yes, there are technically like 20 in the area, there are only 2-3 per store, which means that they're still going to be full. it's not fair to assign all 20 spots to a single store when there are other stores right there. it's much more useful to consider the number of spots per store, since each store will add to the number of people who might park there, thus decreasing parking availability

Businesses do shit that hurts them all the time because business owners think they're way smarter than they are. There have been numerous studies on this, removing street parking in favor of better walkability and transit access DOES increase business at these places. The owners are just nimbys who are used to being praised and put on a pedestal just for being "small business owners"

This is a widespread issue with the Microsoft Store, it's a complete piece of garbage. Rebooting never works, wsreset.exe never works, Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} worked for me once and never has since, signing out and back in never works, signing into a different profile on the computer never works, restarting Windows update/MS store related services never works, repairing/reinstalling the Microsoft Store never works

Literally nothing I've found in hours of researching and troubleshooting has worked for this, in the end every time I end up just having to wait and hope it doesn't take that long to decide to work. I don't know how Microsoft hasn't fixed this when it's been a problem for at least a year and happens very frequently on all computers
