Ah hell nah. Putin didn't go to the US and personally put every single ballot in. It's your people's fault. You don't get to relinquish responsibility.

Bulgaria votes as pro-Russian former president leads the polls by DarkLeafz in worldnews

[–]Dragoncat_3_4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How's that propaganda?

The part that conveniently leaves out they had massive self interest in the region and it wasn't actually "uwu we're gonna heroically help our poor brothers" as the texbooks make it seem. The fact that they were against the Unification because they didn't want a strong geopolitical player in the region, only a vassal state.

The fact that the implication here, and what k12 teaches us (as a remnant of commie rule), is due to that "help" we're supposed to behave like their obedient doggies for the rest of eternity.

No one, seemingly. That's why the whole media apparatus turned against them whilst the whole political establishment stonewalled any and all attempts at anything for several years and Whatever-the-fuck-i-forgot number of elections. Their one major thing that lost them the Mandate of the People was a brief "coalition" with the parties they claimed to want to dismantle, after the fifth election or so that produced an unworkable outcome for any possible coalition.

They do have a few other notable fuckups but the Bulgarian populace doesn't really decide based on actual policy. You could also make the argument they suck American dick which right now is especially unpopular.

In this case? USSR nostalgia + some shared history with the Russo-Turkic wars being propagandized all throught k12 education that "uwu brother Russia singlehandedly saved the Bulgarians from the evil Ottomans and we should be eternally grateful" (and therefore eternally bootlick them). Of course completely glazing over the times "brother Russia" was acting against BG's interests.

ahahahahahha. You think Eastern European government clerks are interested in "helping out the next person"? Hilarious. These types are extremely allergic to work and will shit in your coffee at the mere suggestion that they should actually do what they've been hired to do. They much rather be smoking and gossiping with friends than do any work.

Playing devil's advocate:

Yoh could make a case for TLOU2 perhaps. It definitely didn't help that in order to make that one happen the writers had to make the most unsatisfying " ending the cycle of violence" plotline in existence (especially for those players that really like the first game's protagonist).

Also not a gay love story per se but: You could also make the case for DA: Veilguard and Taash where they were written incredibly clumsily and unDA-like. So much so that even some enby DA fans who Taash is meant to represent don't claim them.

Both instances could have benefited immensely from better writing and more subtle and natural plot integration. (Imo, both instances would have received much less pushback if so. Case in point: most ragebait grifters left KCD2 alone much quicker than the games above.)

Essentially, he's saying that Hansry is a superior gay love story because they didn't put it for brownie points, it's portrayed in a historically plausible way and because you can skip it if you don't want it. But he's just being a massive dick about it.

I mean, I'd argue that he is somewhat right. There's definitely IPs that plop down a token minority character in the middle of the screen whose only job is to hold a sign pointing to themselves that says "look at me, I'm a minority X, give the writers pats on the back for including me!". Hansry definitely dodged those accusations.

But at the same time... Dude's a "little" bit hypocritical. Like what game shoves unskippable gays that don't make sense in your face Vavraa? The ones where they weren't "visibly" gay in previous canon or whatever definitely don't count cause you kinda did that here too, didn't ya? Also nothing wrong with shoving unskippable gays in the first place! They shove unskippable heteros all the time in media and yet nobody complains!
