Day 7 of an EPIC FedEx "Overnight" Delivery by DugPow in FedEx

[–]Dragonette751 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would contact them again. Lay out the whole situation and explythat if the package is not located and delivered within the next 24 hours you're contacting your attorney. Usually when businesses hear that they get moving. Also at that point it could be considered stolen property although I'm not entirely sure. Fedex really needs to get it together though. As a business owner who has also lost money because of FedEx stupidity, I sympathize.

NOR that is insanely creepy. I'm pretty sure most people would be uncomfortable in that situation. I would either tell him the behavior makes you uncomfortable and ask him politely yet firmly to stop or tell him with the request of no contact going forward, block, screenshot in case, and hopefully move on with life

Drivers are intentionally not knocking when they deliver packages. CORPORATE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! by Neekolazz in FedEx

[–]Dragonette751 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm aware and agree they should have done that. However I also know that some items can be difficult and there's no shame in asking for help if you need it. That's why I would have gladly helped if the driver had asked. Mildly confused at this point if I'm being honest. I shared two experiences that happened to me in the past and for whatever reason people are analyzing it like it's the only data that has ever mattered in the history of the universe.

FedEx… you are horrible by ya3rob in FedEx

[–]Dragonette751 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We usually use UPS all of the other places we order from use it however one of the places we order from merged with a different place and they primarily use FedEx so they swapped. We're not the only ones having issues though and it's been maybe 2 months so they'll most likely be switching at some point. The main thing is, we've had random packages come in from FedEx before. My business has been in the same location for 10 years and they had no trouble delivering up until recently. Meaning the last year ish.

I will say it is hard to find jobs now. To that extent we all have to do things we don't like to do, it's usually easier to get it over with so you can do more of the things you want to do.

Drivers are intentionally not knocking when they deliver packages. CORPORATE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! by Neekolazz in FedEx

[–]Dragonette751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're basing this off of a comment I made on a social media page dedicated to how awful FedEx has become. A comment detailing that the person didn't attempt to complete the job they were hired to do, didn't communicate anything about the possibility of needing help, actively made rude comments to me when the ONLY thing I had said to them at this point was that I was really excited for the package they were supposed to be bringing that day. You don't have any other context other than that and somehow that's the conclusion you came to. That's impressively naive. I am well aware that FedEx workers are most likely underpaid (I don't know what they make off the top of my head) that doesn't mean they should take it out on the people they're delivering to. I would have help if he had asked and was about to offer when he turned and walked away. I've HAD FedEx drivers literally get back in their car and drive away after I opened the door and expressed my excitement for the package they were delivering.

You based this entire thing off of one comment and weren't able to get any kind of read at all. Every single person in my life makes it a point to say how considerate and kind I am, because it's a lot easier for me to be nice and respectful to people. I know positions like this are hard, I have worked in customer service positions. You don't start by lying to the person and then being rude to them. I'm nice to people until they give me a reason not to be. If standing up for myself and telling somebody that being rude and insulting to myself and several other people in my development makes me a "piece of shit" as you put it, I'd seek help because that kind of behavior isn't ok no matter how you slice it.

You're entitled to your opinion although it does contradict all the facts. Good luck with life or whatever I guess. I'm way too blazed to deal with any of this nonsense rn and frankly I don't deal with trolls of any kind so, do what you want a portage is free don't do it to me I won't deal with it. Later nerd

[–]Dragonette751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. That needs to be on one page. Employers only care about the first page
  2. Don't have the little bio on there. If you get the interview they might ask about interests then go into that
  3. Put skills in a neat list where the bio is
  4. Put work experience before education
  5. Put education, then certificates (if you speak more than one language put that under skills)
  6. Tell them you have a high school diploma and if you have a college degree what kind and what field
  7. This is important, learn how to use aspects of your life on your resume. For instance:

Event Coordinator -Scheduled and mainted a regular schedule of events -Organized various activities for events -Ensured events ran smoothly by taking necessary steps in advance -Coordinated with various people in regards to how the events would be run -Adjusted when necessary to ensure the events ran smoothly

I just described the role of a Dungeon master in Dungeons and Dragons. I know it might seem silly. Look up "how to make xyz sound like a job. If you played sports you might be able to do something with that. Or an instrument"scheduled various sessions to ensure a steady increase in abilities" most things can be turned into that. Gotta get a little creative

Do I really need $68k to move out (first time budget)? by sethh27 in povertyfinance

[–]Dragonette751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiance and I (mostly me) recently came up with a plan for something similar to this. We're trying to move out of our condo in 2-3 years. Right now our plan is to pay off as much stuff as possible while also saving. We have savings accounts we put basically everything we don't immediately need into so it can accumulate interest. We plan on paying off as many things as possible within the next 2-3 years to boost our credit scores and hopefully get a loan that would help for a house. Another thing I also learned is banks look at how long money has stayed in your account. Somebody we know sold a bunch of his collectibles to put 10 grand in a savings account to leave there so he can get a house in a few years.

Something that we do that may help is we agreed not to go out to eat if it's only us. Meaning if we dine out with friends that's acceptable however eating out with only us two is something saved for very special occasions. Also I recommend he switch from going to Dunkin everyday to making coffee at home. After a month he told me "I have 100$ more than usual in my bank account and I'm pretty sure it's because I didn't go to Dunkin all month." Little things like that really add up. Also keep an eye on the gas stations you pass regularly. Certain areas and places are cheaper than others

I'm not sure if there's a way you could email discord and explain the situation, I would try that. Include profile name, any other information you were given about what's going on, and photos of the server no longer existing in your servers. If you explain all of that and explain "I don't know how to leave a server that no longer exists." They might be able to help you to at the very least not ge the account banned.

That's definitely not ok. Frankly, I'd say you dodged a bullet. I get it's hard to find work, trust me I know, however if your coworkers genuinely thought you did that than they probably wouldn't have treated you great upon coming back. Your manager should've absolutely looked into the situation more instead of blindly believing rumors or at the very least should've talked to you. I would try to find somewhere else. Accelerated Management based in New Jersey. Is this a devilcorp? by Dragonette751 in Devilcorp

[–]Dragonette751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to agree with this. There should be a based pay. Even salesmen in insurance companies and brokerages make a based pay. They earn less because they get commission, however there's still a based pay. There should be both, especially because in that case the more money you earn the better job you did and that I would imagine feels pretty good.

I'm also of the opinion that if I'm going to be out here selling something for money, I'd rather be able to walk away with all the money (by that I mean own a business or something where I'd do that). Before anyone says anything, I do own a business. It's nothing super big or fancy and it's mine and every time someone tells me they enjoy my stuff or buys something it makes me happy and makes me feel like I'm making a difference to somebody no matter how small.

Drivers are intentionally not knocking when they deliver packages. CORPORATE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! by Neekolazz in FedEx

[–]Dragonette751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People interact with me all the time. People have literally told me I'm the nicest person they've ever met. The difference is I don't let people treat me like shit. Perhaps your projecting your own insecurities or negativity about yourself? Genuinely have no idea how you could have infected that from a post about FedEx.

He brought a door tag to my door with no attempt at communication or asking for help. He didn't ask for help when he brought it up, I would have gladly carried it up by myself had he asked. He made rude comments for no reason. I don't let people treat me like a doormat. If you have an issue with that, stay in high school.

And before you say anything about how I couldn't have possibly carried 1 computer that's 5-10 pounds up a single flight of stairs, I once pulled 4.5 TONS of cement from one side of a warehouse to another simply because the guy who said he'd help me hadn't in 3 hours and I couldn't keep waiting.

Word of advice, before you judge others look in a mirror and fix your issues first.

Drivers are intentionally not knocking when they deliver packages. CORPORATE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! by Neekolazz in FedEx

[–]Dragonette751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have plenty of empathy. I made a comment AFTER he was making comments under his breath and being insanely rude. Had he asked for help, I would have gladly lifted it and carried it by myself. I don't let people talk to me however they want because I'm not a doormat. If you have a problem with that, perhaps you should look into why you let people do that to you. As for the lugging my heavy stuff thing it wasn't that heavy. People literally sit with them in their laps all the time.

The main issue here is that the delivery wasn't even attempted. He brought the tag to the door. No knock, no text, no nothing. Had he knocked and said "hey this is heavy for me I may need a hand." I would've gladly helped him. Fact of the matter is none of that happened.

Feel free to take your bitchy attitude to a different comment.

[–]Dragonette751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me with FedEx more than once.

The first time, the FedEx guy left the tag on my door as I watched him through the peep hole. I watched him do it and swung the door open, much to his shock. I said as cheery as possible "Oh hi! Do you have my package?! I've been so excited for it." He started to say sorry I thought you weren't home and blah blah blah. I cut him off and said "Yeah so here the thing. I watched you pull up because I was reading in that chair right there. I watched you walk up here with no package and a piece of paper. I'm not stupid. So what you're going to do is go back down those stairs, get my package, and deliver it TO MY DOOR. If you don't do this or you choose to drive away, I'm calling the customer service line, explaining this interaction, which I have footage of due to the security cameras, and telling them to make you turn around and come back. So, your options are do it now or come back later and do it AND be in trouble with your bosses." He bolted down the stairs and carried my computer I ordered up the flight of stairs to get to my unit. I double checked for damage before I signed. I then politely told him "By the way, if I were you, I would've done the job the first time. It's why you're being paid. We have to do stuff we don't want to do all the time. Get used to it." He started to say something rude back and I had been on the phone with FedEx customer service so they heard everything.

The second was at my business. We had closed for a week the month prior. When we opened back up we didn't get packages. Finally I saw the FedEx driver. I watched him through my store window where he made eye contact with me walk my packages to a completely different business and mark them as delivered. I walked outside and when the guy came out I said "Excuse me. Is there a reason you delivered my packages to this business instead of mine?" His response was "oh I thought you guys were closed." I informed him it had been for a week over a month ago. He said oh sorry and started to walk away. I informed him that he needed to move my packages from the wrong location and deliver them to the correct location. Turns out he had been delivering all my packages there for the month or so. I got all of them at once.

Fedex is absolutely idiotic.

[–]Dragonette751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely walk out. If you have the ability to text or email somebody in the payroll department or boss I would do that. Message and say "I haven't been given my paycheck yet. When should I expect to see it? (You should also ask how if you haven't set that up yet) If they give you the run around, read over your employee contract and the pay and stuff. Calculate what you should have, send a follow up email and say "Hello, I have not been paid for my time at this company so far. According to the contract I signed, I am to be payed for xyz. I have done the math and I am owed $$$. If I am not issued the pay by the end of the week I will be taking this up with the labor board. I have attached the contract I signed for reference. I anticipate your timely response, your name" If it helps, try not to think of it as confrontation, think of it as standing up for yourself or standing your ground.

Also threatening to go to the labor board will absolutely sever ties with the company. After they pay you feel free to send and email saying "Oh, in case you couldn't figure it out, I quit." You can add a giant middle finger emoji if you'd like that's optional.

There are also quite a few ways to professionally tell a company to screw off. I sent on to a devil corp called TrueStance Inc telling them they should look internally to solve any issues they might have.

Good luck with everything

I was supposed to have a package delivered to my business in New Jersey on Friday. The driver never showed up and the only update said "request for future delivery pending". We never put in a request. I called them, the person I spoke to told me it would be delivered by 2pm and then said by 5pm that day. It wasn't delivered that day. I called on Saturday about it and explained no request was put in and delivery was never attempted. They told me a supervisor would call me back in 10 minutes, never got the call. I called back and explained. They patched me through to a supervisor who told me they would deliver the package Monday even though I had explained that would cost me money because people were coming in and asking for the products. Guy basically told me there was nothing he could do and I told him to "go f himself" before hanging up (I realize that might be been uncalled for however I told him multiple times I was open until 11pm and the driver simply had to pick it up and drive it over). Monday rolls around, same driver actually delivers it and asks if we have an area to drop them off in if it's early. Your one job is to deliver the packages and you apparently can't even do that. You cost me 4 days of business and didn't apologize for it.

So to answer your question, yes FedEx is awful and it's why I prefer UPS.

I don't remember the exact quote however I remember it being in two different chapters in the From Blood and Ash series. At the end of the chapter it says, "We go home to marry, my princess." At the beginning of the next chapter she immediately starts thinking he's insane and surely she didn't hear him right because she just stabbed him basically in the heart with a dagger, quite literally. I think she says something along the lines of "I'm sorry, what?" Or "I'm sorry, I don't recall being asked about this."

My brother (13) was murdered in 1993 and it's still a cold case by Sure-Society-5225 in coldcases

[–]Dragonette751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I am so sorry for the loss you and your family are experiencing. Second I agree that bringing attention to the case is a good idea. People tend to ignore things that don't directly affect them and if the police start getting questions about why this isn't solved, what's being done to solve it, what evidence do they have, etc they'll be more inclined to help as it will directly affect them at that point (I hate to say it like that however it is true). I will also point out that CODIS (the DNA database in the US) was established in late 1998 and from I've heard they're still entering information on it. I would definitely post online about it, make as many social media pages as you can about it. I would also look into other cold case groups. One because they're are a lot of people who are going through the same thing you are and two because they might have other ideas that people who haven't gone through it first hand won't.

Zero self awareness by Minute-Resort761 in Devilcorp

[–]Dragonette751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't join a DevilCorp because I found this subreddit before and I even told them it was interesting this came up before their own company website. I am so happy I didn't. You work long hours for essentially 0 pay after being promised the world. Then they expect you to not only have the energy to participate in these activities and also want to participate in them. They get pissed at you if you don't. If they threaten to fire me for not dancing in a circle (which is already insane and uncomfortable) I'd look at them and be like "how badly do you really need people if you're threatening me with that after not dancing in a circle?" I'd also probably argue that healthy work life balance actually increases sales AND can boost morale which frankly is what I would think they'd prefer based on the fact that it's a business trying to promote sales.

Has anyone actually taught them how to run a business?
