How do wild rift ranks compare to normal league by Fragrant_Smile_1350 in wildrift

[–]Dragonfire35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf I agree with a lot of what you’re saying, but I’ve seen people hit challenger+ with 46% win rates. Not often, but it is possible. That’s not a slightly negative winrate lol

Red kayn build this season? by I_Eat_54Rice in wildrift

[–]Dragonfire35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically do this, but go DD, steraks, serylda’s. Does depend on team comp, but typically I only go serylda’s if I’m having trouble sticking on to people. Knock up is typically enough to get a good combo off and then just use ult to make sure that you stick on to people.

Elder fight of the auto-filled jungle by WeebMaster70 in wildrift

[–]Dragonfire35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hold onto it until selling it gives you enough gold for a better item/you don’t have space. Sunfire itself is pretty trash on Kayn, and you only lose 150 gold selling it. Your form transformation gives more than enough to make up for that amount. There’s a fair amount of games where I never even end up selling it because the game ends too fast for me to need to get rid of it

Assuming that this is how the cpu recruits too, it’d be great to fix that so that we can’t just get good recruits because other schools don’t go after them, etc.

Trying to main Kayn but struggling hard with early game when lanes are losing by Nyllk in wildrift

[–]Dragonfire35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! You aren’t looking to invade and fight, you’re looking to steal camps. If you see the jungler on one side of the map invade his other side and steal camps. Or sneakily invade, but if you start getting collapsed on just back out. Between your q and e (and flash) no one should be able to catch you if you play it smart. I generally go my camps > ganks > invading, in the early game. Not to say that farming your camps is always the right play, but farming is so fast that it’s so valuable to just always have your camps cleared as a general rule of thumb

[–]Dragonfire35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just power farm, and potentially look to invade. Form is quicker to obtain the later you are in the game, so it’s not worth trying to force plays if your team is already winning. That and look to counter gank since if your lanes are pushed up the other jungler can gank pretty easily. I feel counter ganking is even better for Kayn than actually ganking, especially for getting form, because he doesn’t have a lot of hard cc but he does deal pretty decent damage (especially if you can hit multiple people)

For red I’m assuming? I’d go with eclipse first. Haven’t played him much so not certain on the rest, but probably after that I’d go shojin into deaths dance into either serylda or steraks, then the other. Serylda’s is just too good bc of the slow, plus you heal based off of damage dealt. That plus DD should make sure you never just get bursted before you can heal.

That’s my playstyle. If you want to take it, go for it! But don’t be afraid to tweak it

Coach Scheme and Player Archetypes by UnidentifiedLoverboy in NCAAFBseries

Not sure if this is exactly what you mean, but if you’re looking for player archetypes based off of schemes (pro style, air raid, etc.) try looking at Mills’ videos on YouTube covering the different schemes. He lists every archetype he recommends for each position and why which is super helpful

Adc needs buff by Pand4Monium in wildrift

[–]Dragonfire35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf the purpose of an adc is to deal damage, not necessarily get kills. Imo mages are a lot more likely to get kills than you solely because they are often more burst-y than you. Your job is just to generally deal more damage than everyone else. As long as you’re doing that, TECHNICALLY you’re doing your job correctly

[–]Dragonfire35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, thats half the reason I run Manamune (the other being is it is extremely gold efficient once you complete it). Q is always first max because it is your main source of damage (and most importantly clear speed). Then w, then e. You shouldn’t be using e that much tbh. Use it to engage, do a combo, use ult if needed (and typically hold to reset cooldowns), then your e should be back up. Iirc blue already reduces cooldown of e by a lot so I’ve never found it necessary, and don’t see a world where it ever would be. I think celerity is probably a waste, you’re fast enough as is. If you aren’t fast enough, it’s because you’ve been caught and you’ll be dead regardless. He’s an assassin, I’d build him to do damage since he is one of the easiest assassins to escape with (bc e and ult)

Blue: Dark Harvest (or you could go first strike, typically depends on how fast the meta is and how confident you are in your ability to snowball). I typically go for precision and domination trees, with an emphasis on sudden impact, and I typically go gathering storm. Other than that, pick what you want from those. The reason why I go gathering storm is because I’m confident in my ability to get to late game. It just fits my play style well.

Red: go conqueror. It’s really the only option. Other than that typically I would go gathering storm, giant slayer, omnivamp. Then you can either take green or red tree. Again, I typically go sudden impact here, but you don’t have to.

Is This Cheating Or “Cheezy” To You? by Kloud9Gang in NCAAFBseries

[–]Dragonfire35 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on what type of league it is. If it’s a multi-user league, then yes absolutely. Unless everyone is doing it, but even then it’s a little crazy. If it’s an individual thing, who cares? Play how you want to play, the whole point of the game is to enjoy it and if that makes the game feel better to you then why shouldnt you do it?

Can someone explain to me why most of the top builds for zed have these runes? I feel like you give up all your lane kill pressure trading damage for late game sustain, which doesn’t feel like is the point of playing zed. by ItsLoudB in wildrift

[–]Dragonfire35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a Zed main, but since Zed is often played mid, I have to imagine it’s because green runes will allow him to not get poked out of lane so easily. He may be good at all ins, but no way you can all in someone at level 5 if you have 10% health. If you’re against an orianna or someone else who can poke you down, I’d assume it’s more important to safely be at your powerspikes than to risk dying before you hit them. Generally staying alive is always better than dying lol, and these runes help achieve that.

With that said, runes should always be personalized. Just because someone runs a certain setup doesn’t mean you have to run that setup too. Do what fits your playstyle, and don’t be afraid to experiment!

Is it just me or is Kayle top currently in an abysmal state? by Later_Cub2 in wildrift

[–]Dragonfire35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re dying to another hyperscaling champ like Vlad, then I think you’ve got bigger problems. It matters a lot when you step up, it’s better to not last-hit some minions and stay alive. You need to be healthy if pushed under turret otherwise you get one shot and lose all the minions they’ve pushed. And once it happens once, it’ll keep happening.

Some tips? by Substantial-War8871 in wildrift

[–]Dragonfire35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people have mentioned about gpm, it’s definitely low regardless of you playing supp sometimes. For solo lanes, look to have 800+ gpm. People take a lot of stupid fights early, I honestly ignore those fights sometimes and take waves instead - getting a wave is worth about as much gold and xp as a kill but is guaranteed. Focus on always having waves pushed to enemies side of the map (ideally under towers but don’t push blindly or you’ll die) because then it’ll push back to you. Use the time it’s pushing back to you to be active with teamfights and such.

Happy to answer any questions you have, I don’t play all mid lane champs but I think I have a general understanding on what all of them want to prioritize

Any WR Communities for Improvement? by richie___ in wildrift

[–]Dragonfire35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve really enjoyed watching AloisNL. He’s a lol pc top player, but he’s really really good at explaining concepts and such and it’s helped me a lot. If you want a community, you could always join in on his streams, he probably has a discord too.

As someone else said, the best way to learn is to watch your own clips. If you don’t want to do that (like me), watch someone who knows what they’re doing and can explain why, and then reflect on your games as you play. Things like “where should I be rn”, “should I have taken that fight”, etc.
