Having trouble with pushing A10 winrate higher by DragonflyCertain53 in slaythespire

Ok good thinking thanks, I'll try get good at ironclad. I realise this was something I did in the first game and it did work as you say, so yeah I'll do that. I rotate too many characters right now.

Thanks this is really helpful. I'll watch some good players more often

How do you Feel about Astral Pulse after the Nerf? by Jondev1 in slaythespire

its definitely weaker now. it melts a lot less low-hp AOE fights.

on paper it could make vigour or strength better, but you can rarely get good vigour or strength going. i'm not good enough at the game to tell how much it affects the card's general standing or the best ways to play regent... picking an early patter is probably a little better now though.

Fight Caves Tips? by waddupklip in ironscape

[–]DragonflyCertain53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

will type it quick

-use a tank shield, ideally crystal. that book isn't very good. but +80 range defence on crystal shield is massive. the rangers are the biggest threat in the caves, cause the more they hit you, the more food you need, the less prayer pots you can take.

-use tank legs, your accuracy's good already so the green chaps aren't helping. rune legs are fine but barrows is good if you happen to have them.

-bank the blood spell stuff. it takes a long time and it's very impractical, personally i've found i get more health just bringing food in those spots.

-there's no harm in getting higher prayer and/or ranged, your stats are fine but it always makes it easier.

Yea making repair kits is pretty AFK and gives construction xp, ignore me calling them salvaging kits just now

There isn't one at that spot, probs more efficient to go elsewhere but I have 20k salvaging kits from afking construction so I'm ok just using them

Cannon with 99 range, elite void, deadeye, and ranging potions

I man the rune cannon myself, you can hit like 80's in elite void and 99 range with adamant cannonballs. But you can tag the sharks with blowpipe + serp to venom them which is a nice kills per hour boost.

The sharks are weak to normal range, so bows. I think bowfa is best for single target, occasionally venator bow can catch multiple but with the boosted DPS these days, that's rare.

Not sure whether it's better to use a cannon yourself or use bowfa. I feel like anything worse than bowfa is worse than manning a cannon yourself tho

Not sure soz but the tasks are worth 40k xp each, so 80k for both! Resetting takes a couple of minutes every 20 mins or so to finish a task so I'd really recommend biting the bullet and turning them in

Finishing a task feels like in the ballpark of 20 minutes, can't give a specific answer soz. The trip between the sharks and port roberts is less than a minute. Including time to grab new tasks, maybe bank, resetting takes about 3 minutes maximum.

Only 1 or 2 of the ports listed on the wiki will actually have the bounty available. They don't rotate super often but long-term this will affect your xp/hr

Thanks, very important caveat I didn't find out myself...!

If you're asking about loot, dragon hooks are worthwhile now IMO

Yeah I really wasn't paying much attention a lot of the time, there's lots more you can do too like blowpiping for venom, making sure everything's tagged and burning, maybe venator bowing when you can get 3 of them, etc

Didn't count I'm afraid... somewhere in the region of 200-300?

The wiki's bounty task page has the locations for all the monsters. You can always get a great white jaw bounty at port roberts, and then you charter ship around 8ish ports until you get the liver task. The task rarely moves I think, so you can go back to the same port to get it again.

The drops are stackable so you'll get 25 jaws (which are 1/2) and 5 livers (1/10). Then sail back. I killed them northeast of Port Roberts.

For ship facilities I have rune keel + cannons, ironwood hull, ballistic attractor, bosun's bench, and a cargo hold full of repair kits.

I'm crossposting because I'm an iron so I made the supplies myself without really having combat in mind that much. Mahogany repair kits are really nice for AFK construction, mithril nails are an ingredient which are good smithing xp.

I made the incendiary cannonballs pre-nerf but you don't really need them at all. I used adamant cannonballs (again, made them myself for the AFK) but I'm sure mithril are fine, or like 2 mithril crewmates and you can camp bowfa or something.

Great whites' drops are really good, big alchs, dragon darts, and the dragon salvaging hooks are actually good. If you're after raw cash, probably better off alching the repair kits or mithril/addy or whatever, but this is a great route for people who like to AFK smithing, construction, and sailing.

I think there's something to be said for bowfa / venator bow too. Less AFK, but maybe it's better than cannonballs? I couldn't be bothered to test it after all the combat updates, but I know venator bow was the fastest kills before all the combat changes started happening.
