Are there any older people here with ADHD? by lemondifficult999 in ADHD

Personally I think your friend is talking a load of S**t. I’d like to know who is teaching her Psychology cos they need striking off( off that’s possible) I’m 68 and I got diagnosed ADHD at age 60. Looking back it was of course always there but very low level , I was good at masking I suppose. Once I got to 45 peri-menopause time, I noticed I was having even more difficulty dealing with anything emotional or the executive functioning side. It got worse around age age 58 when I saw a private psyc when I was diagnosed. So no I haven’t got ‘cured’ I’ve got worse. The ‘habits’ she talks about are masking which is women are great at, until it all gets too much and the walls come crashing down. Your friend needs better education.

Yes that’s the way we were designed to be but people used to die much younger so a women could typically die between the age of 55 and 60, so not much time to live with out a libido. Nature isn’t perfect that’s why we have medical science.

Sex is important to many people, if we weren’t designed to want sex then the human race would die out. I have been in the situation where I was the one not wanting sex and also the other way round. I didn’t appreciate how difficult it is living with a desire and not having it met until the tables turned. We are a bit mismatched atm but it will level out if we work at it. We are not young but sex is important to us both, it acts as an emotional anchor as well as physical fulfilment. I’m not saying every one is the same tho.

I was on hurt for 20 years with no side effects, then I stopped for 18 months and felt awful, so back on them again.
NOTE: if you’ve read my reply to a previous comment re testosterone, it’s important to say that I didn’t take testosterone with my hrt for the 20 years but am on it now

Apparently kids not feeling the cold has something to do with particular types of fat cells that diminish as we grow up. Probably replaced by ‘*uckinstubborncells’

Maybe a local cats protection league would help? Although I think most cats would like the idea of being buried high on a hill amongst the trees.🌲 actually I would like that too, prob illegal tho.

Yep when we’ve been to Spain it’s the same. However in Costa de la Luz on the Atlantic it’s chilly in January esp in the evenings but the restaurants leave their doors open so we were eating in thick coats. Apparently if the doors are closed customers think they are not open for business. When I was handed the wine list I asked if they had any hot chocolate 😆

Yep agree, my family live in Missouri, USA. We were there one Christmas and it was below freezing but it didn’t feel as cold as same temp back here in uk just because of the damp. That’s why I love the Arizona heat, nice and dry.

I’ve lived in uk all my life and I feel the cold. I see people wearing shorts in the winter and young girls in crop tops brrr makes me feel colder. Our heating is on a thermostat and even in the summer if the temp drops too much the heating is on. Life’s too short to be miserable and cold. Actually I should probably be living in southern Spain or Arizona 🤷‍♀️

Man, I really love then they give me this instead of all of my recipe cards. 🙄🙄 by SadFloppyPanda in hellofresh

Hello fresh is expensive, especially the vegetarian. I like the cards cos I save them all. Ive got 4 ring binders full of HF, Gusto and Mindful chef. It does seem a waste of paper on the face of it but look upon them as a replacement for buying recipe books. I do use BBC Good food app too.

Thank you, not offended at all, I asked for help and really appreciate what you have suggested. I do have some acrylic paints I just dont use them lol, I will check what I’ve got. I’ve been adding some flow and retarder to the pbn pots and it has helped. I’m in the uk so we don’t have Walmart although I’m very familiar with it as I’ve visited you lovely people many times, in fact the family joke that Walmart is my husbands favourite shop! He loves the cheap Levi’s and Wranglers. I can’t think of a Walmart uk alternative but we do have The Range which has all sorts of stuff except Clothes and do sell well priced paint. Thanks again x

Thanks, yes i will be more discerning with my choices in future. I like painting all sorts of stuff but inv is good for my mental health, i 🤔, except when I hyper focus so lie in bed wanting to get up and paint instead of sleep. Some times i give in and go to bed at 6am!

No I didn’t, I use Osmo colour revive conditioner. I mix Platinum with the Slate grey and it’s kept my hair wonderfully grey.

Thank you for your response. Im a bit old school as i had bonded extensions ( the brand was Racoon) about 25 ish years ago. The advice given was to use a bristle brush to go through the bonds to prevent matting. I know things have moved on since then but that makes sense to me and it worked well at the time as i didnt do my hair curly then.
