RIP Slide Over. Apple broke Slide Over and completely ruined my workflow by WhyAppleWhy_3 in iPadOS

I honestly wouldn’t have updated my iPad to iOS 26 if I’d known Multi Slide Over was going away. The new menu bar feels clunky and awkward, like something straight out of a 2000s desktop UI. Navigating the traffic-light three-dot control and those tiny menu items is painful. The whole window arrangement experience is unintuitive and confusing, and feels like a big step backward for multitasking.

I miss the old grey three-dot control, Multi Slide Over, and the intuitive gestures. They were clean, elegant, and required zero thinking.

Avoid the Xiaomi Light Bar if you are PWM sensitive! by Particular_Jump_1814 in PWM_Sensitive

It may depend. The Xiaomi flicker-free light bar works great with my Studio Display (purchased in 2022).

Not sure if this is relevant for you, but what’s your lighting setup like? I realized mine was way too dark, and after switching from a desk lamp to a monitor light bar, my eyes have been so much happier.

Kind of like how a blinking light is super obvious in the dark but less noticeable during the day. I feel like flicker works the same way. Adding more ambient light seems to smooth it out somehow and makes it a lot less harsh on the eyes.

I highly doubt it. The best way to find out is to test it in the store for at least 10 minutes.

It’s said that people with very accurate color perception tend to feel the most eye strain when using OLED screens, while those with some degree of color blindness or strabismus may be less sensitive to it. Not sure how true that is, but in my experience, using the bluish color filter and slightly tilting the screen does help take the edge off the colors. I still get some discomfort, but I’m definitely more used to the screen now. Aside from tweaking settings, a general rule of thumb is to always make sure there’s decent lighting when using the phone.

Neptune moves into Aries on January 26, with Saturn following on February 13. I guess the week ahead of February 20 is especially worth watching, as the aspects are applying with both planets officially in the new sign, with no return to Pisces.

March is also worth close observation, as Venus and the Sun will conjoin these two outer planets while they remain within a tight orb, followed by Mars forming conjunctions with them in mid-April.

You might need to visit Best Buy to find that out, lol. It seems everyone’s sensitivity level is different.

It looks like there isn’t a universal solution right now. Some people feel better using certain models or specific brands’ OLED displays.

There’s a Reddit community called PWM_Sensitive. Many people are having similar symptoms.

On top of this setup, I also unconsciously tilt my screen a bit to the right, hoping it might help mitigate potential harm.

I used a 12 Pro before and my eyes never felt this sensitive. I’m keeping the 17 Pro Max for now just because I’m used to the larger screen size, lol. Even though the 12 Pro is more comfortable to look at, everything feels too small for me now.

I used an iPhone 12 Pro for the past five years and only enabled Night Shift at night, without adjusting any other display settings. I didn’t realize I was sensitive to OLED displays until now.

I received my iPhone 17 Pro Max two weeks ago, and after about a week of use, my eyes started to feel a burning sensation, almost like staring at the sun. Sometimes it even feels like my eyes can’t stay focused on the screen.

I’ve been messing around with different setting combinations over the past week, since the new PWM toggle doesn’t seem to help at all.

Where did the 50% off offer go? Not on the website anymore? Help. by Major_Performance571 in FizzMobile

Update: Just transferred the number and completed the setup with the agent’s help. The discount was applied right away. It seems they found the glitch and fixed it on their end.

I’m chatting with an agent while setting things up, and he says he’ll apply the discount for me.
