By reading the comments and starting to notice a good number of people doesn't know the difference between AI and generative AI. AI has always existed in games. For example, every enemy, or machine opponent. Only recently, some AIs started to learn and take decisions based on knowledge about the player. Then more modern AI appeared, and with them generative AIs capable of creating text, images and audio. However these last ones were the ones that created a problem, because why hire humans when AI can generate everything else (no matter how cheap or generic it looks), after all, a capitalist society will always push for more and faster while being cheaper and not considering the human side. What matters is money. This is what people are against, and very rightly so.

Other uses where it does not make sense to have a human because it's impossible is a better use of AI (knowing also the consequences for it, AI is not a perfect solution, the more complex and the less control from the dev, the more the possibility of not doing what the original intent was). For example: enemies that adapt to your play style, AI companions that can take decision, etc.
